Default 16v cams

I have a set of 16v cams in good condition. Are they worth anything to anyone?

Depends on which 16V cams. What numbers are on the ends?

78-79: Sure.
80-82 US: probably not
83-84 US: most likely not.
80-83 Euro: Yes
84-86 Euro: Hell yeah!

Well, that's my rating of the cams anyways

And here's why they're rated that way. Higher lift and longer duration = higher performance from better breathing. This is why I used the '79 cams from my 4.5L in the' 82 4.7L motor I installed last year. The '82 motor, in addition to 200cc more displacement, also has a slightly higher compression ratio (9.0:1 vs 8.5:1), so a better package on a couple of fronts and still works great with the supercharger.

The flat of the end piece has the numbers of interest. USA 80 to 84 are of the least interest as is, but work fine as cores to be welded and reground, and are what I think I used at Web Cams.

Numbers that end in an R I think are casting numbers that apply to a series of parts.
