Default Cayman seats into OB 928?

My 78 928 has a seriously degraded (dry, falling apart leather and the bolster foam is disintegrating) driver's seat and the passenger seat isn't much better.
I have access to a set of seats from a 2012 (I think...) Cayman that was taken to the track and rolled.

What I'm wondering is if anyone has any ideas how likely the seat rails would be anywhere near bolting up in an early 928?
I don't mind doing the wiring to provide power, but am leery of too much structural work in a safety critical point, as I don't have a lot of "from scratch" fab experience, or a milling machine to knock out adapters easily.

I've found a few discussion threads about seats from x fit in y model, and seats from y model probably fit in z model, but haven't actually found anything saying yea or nay to stuffing a pair of these seats into an early 928.

Any input would be appreciated.

I forget which way it is, but early and later models attach the seat belt to the chassis vs seat rail.

I put Cayman sport seats into my 928. Bolted them through the seat rails into the car. Not a lot of room to work the screws with a stubby ratcheting screwdriver, but was able to do it. They're solid. Hooked up 12v and ground for the power recline. The rest (fore/aft and height) are manual.

Those seats fit me the best of any seats anywhere. Have them in my 997, my 928, and made an office chair of another one.

Yes, please. Boxster seats are almost as comfortable as 928 seats.

I had 12 way power seats from a '90 GT when I did my originsl build and these seats fit me much better than those - not as soft and a better shape. It's the back design with the shoulder support wings that make them so good. Regular 997 seats don't fit me nearly as well as we have those in my wife's 997.

How did you address the positioning posts that stick down below the 997 seat rail? Although they line up with one of the 3 aft mounting threads the post is fixed and not threaded. Did you cut them away? Or drill out the mounting threads?

Drop the rear pegs into the forward of the 2 rear holes and use the bolt through the other rear hole. Those front ones will end up forward of the 928 floor rail and not be an issue. You have to put the front bolts through the square seat rail holes through the front hole in the 928 floor rail.
