Starts and dies after 40 seconds. This is the detail from the seller. I am just trying to get it running enough to ship instead of paying more as a nonrunner. The difference in price would make sense to pay someone out there to micro sort it since that activity would need to be done here as well.

I met Dan at Sharktoberfest. He certainly seems to know his 928 stuff and is very passionate about these cars. He's also, pretty obviously, intelligent.
And he's done enough 928 work to understand the "problem" with working on 928's, professionally.
As direct a quote, from Dan, as I can recall (without actually having a recording):
"I love to work on 928's.
They are a challenge and always make you think, which I really enjoy.
The problem with them is that you can spend all day tracing and fixing problems and make $500, when you can service a Boxster, replace the water pump and the front engine mount, and make $2500 by noon."

Thank you all. Dan it is. I left him a message this morning. If it were a boxster, I could fly to Phoenix and fix the water pump and front motor mount and be on the road by 10pm. But instead its a mystery box with a trombone for an intake
These posts are why I love the 928 community.

Dan has been my go to guy for the past 17 years and can tell you that you cannot go wrong with trusting him with your car. He is not only honest and particular, but a detail oriented person... the only type you want touching a 928.
