Adrian,

The stock PSD kit is an amazing piece of engineering and is well suited to track use [I suspect] providing someone modifies the monolithic stock control algorithm. The stock system does what it does by progressively modifying the pressure applied to the clutch plates. Knowing the output lock up capabilities I suspect that for some clever chappy like our Ken [Porken of chips & lift bar fame] developing a revised algorithm for track work would probably be "a walk in the park" as it were.

Indeed some folks have fitted user adjustable pressure regulators to simulate the likes of the fixed LSD unit you posted about. Given the way the PSD system works I would think it could be programmed with a user selectable algorithm or better still algorithms [plural]. Unfortunately it is such a small market sector so not really commercially viable given that for street use it works really well as I am concerned- well it did until my system locked up but that is another matter I am currently dealing with.

Default CS motorsport cams

Hi all, some pics of the CS cams getting ready to go in the engine. Note they have 1mm extra lift than GT cams and some different aspects on the casting, although the original casting numbers are standard:

Which engine is this?
This car had so many of them that I'm lost

I know:
- The original M28/41 81K SP
- The replacement M28/41 81K X
- The S engine that Lionel Installed but it's not this one

How is the rest of car, now?

Hi Samuel, it’s the original CS block rebuilt to race spec. I’ve had to go with replacement heads (but they are identical spec), and fitting these special CS cams. The rebuild is nearly finished and will then remove the current “Lionel S engine” and refit the original now rebuilt close ratio motorsport engine. Body has had all the issues fixed and will then need a respray at some point. I also have new replacement lightweight side windows ready to fit, and the fia cage has been powder coated and ready to refit…..will share progress photos in the coming months.

Thanks. I'm looking forward to seeing this one in action
Keep the original side plastic windows as they are really interesting.

Absolutely fascinating and can’t wait to see the next update and images. Where do you plan to run it once completed? I’d love to see it on track one day!

Thanks will do. Will probably race it at Silverstone at some point, it will then have competed in 6 different countries!

Default Cam chain tensioners

Not really necessary but am putting brand new chain tensioners in the engine as had these “in stock”.

Adrian,

Great attention to detail and reliability on this build. I know I'm being repetitive , but congratulations on your projects!

Congratulations and absolutely love the historical perspective of a factory developed 928 racer!

Still the last one who drove that car on track

Congratulation to made nearly the same of what Samuel and me thought about that car, when it was almost for sale.

A missed opportunity for us but I'm glad that Adrian is the new keeper of this car

I remember seeing the car for sale with a really ****ty advert on mobile.de for EUR15,000 - it looked like a complete piece of crap. Really tired and in a need of a big refresh. By the time I had rationalised the purchase in my head - 48hrs - it was sold to your friend in France. Fortune favours the brave as they say. I really must go up to Adrian’s place which is only 1hr away from me and check it out…
