We Lost Another 928'er: RKD in OKC
Passing this tragic news along.
On February 12th, 2021 RKD in OKC died. His real name is or was Richard K. Davis.
Some of you will remember Richard's beautiful 928 GTS 5 speed. It was listed last year in Aug on BaT but sadly did not meet reserve, I'm not sure if the car was sold privately afterwards. From a mutual online friend, Richard was really fast in it at many years of auto crossing it. He also owned a Cayenne Turbo that was just silly fast. He did enjoy speed.
He was a big part of the local Porsche club and served as president twice and was their first web master.
Richard had a stroke back just before Thanksgiving, fell and broke his arm to add insult to injury. In the hospital they gave him a case of Covid-19 as a bonus. That meant a respirator and a feeding tube. He did battle back against Covid and after a few weeks was off the respirator, but evidently a second stroke was the fatal blow.
He was just 61. He was a lifetime heavy smoker.
RIP buddy.

Sad to hear. I helped Richard get some things done with his car when getting it ready to sell. Last I talked with him he had just sold it to someone out on the West Coast.
RIP

Well Darn. Richard was a good guy and knew how to have fun. I think he really enjoyed going to Third Coast when he could, hanging out and talking cars. I followed him in my 89 S4 and he in his GTS once on a DFW group trip to Paris (Texas) a few years ago. He intimated at one of the first stops along the way that he had always been a crazy driver and all I could do was laugh and agree. He was different, but I liked him.

This is very sad.
HIs GTS was stunning.
He was the one who posted the question: "Did you guys know that you can get a 10 year old Cayenne with 100k on it for less than $20k?"
At the time, no I didn't.
I found one about 8 months later for $16k. 6 years ago on Tuesday.
