Default Shark frenzy in Auckland

Shark frenzy in Auckland, New Zealand. 7 owners and 8 928’s between us but only 3 cars present on the day as the rest are receiving loving TLC. We also had a lovely 944S2 along for good measure. Hopefully we’ll have a few more on the road next time. If you are in the upper half of the NI and want to join us next time please PM me.

Wait a second! Aren't those cars supposed to be upside down?

Great to see the world of 928's alive and well! I love New Zealand and wish I could have met up with a few of you when I toured the country a few years back. Loved golfing at Cape Kidnappers and the home we rented on Lake Taupo! Aukland is a water wonderland and an absolutely beautiful city!!!

One of the most interesting things was trying to find a straight road! You are blessed with the curviest paved roads on the planet!

Enjoy!

Ah yes, beautiful New Zealand. About 15 years ago, my wife and I had dinner (and a wonderful tour) of Aukland with a New Zealand 928 owner. Unfortunately my old brain has put his name in a locked file cabinet. I think his moniker here on Rennlist was "Millionaire' or something similar to that. Glad you had a nice gathering of 928 folks.

I also remember the long one lane bridge on the south island - with the train tracks running down the center of the bridge as well!!

Wildly beautiful country...

There was a big earthquake on the South Island while we were there. The waters of Lake Taupo were full of large pumice rocks floating in an abrasive froth!

Brought a few home for use in the shower...

We have a Hell Michigan event, Should put one together with a get together at this pizza place in NZ!

Just a thought!

I think that would have been Eric M'Call.

Yes Jon, it was Eric - and you and your wife were also present for dinner and the tour. You all made us feel so welcome in NZ. Thanks for the memories. I'd forgotten that you are now living in the US. Thanks for joining us here. Where are you now located?

Cheers mate,.

Hi All, I was at the event in Auckland recently although my car was and still is in the shop getting the cambelt and WP done. I was looking out for Eric - has anyone heard from him? Theo Jenniskens from the Netherlands was asking me if I knew him - seems they have known him for many years.
Regards
Ken

Hopefully we will all get back to what we once had with international travel (big hope I know, fingers crossed) I hope to get to one of the big 928 events in the US one day..!

If any of you make it down here I’m sure a BBQ, decent wine and a few cold beers can found.
Travel is such a huge loss at the moment, fingers crossed for a more positive future.

cheers

Richard

I'm thinking of another trip down when things open up again. I'll pm you when I make plans. Probably about three years!

Enjoy!

Jon,

You got it fixed, quick flight from US to OZ - ha!!!

As I recall, you moved to Sydney shortly after our dinner in Auckland. We'd spent a week in Sydney before coming to NZ.. When we left Auckland following our 10 days of driving on both islands, we flew to Melbourne and spent another 3 weeks driving and seeing things from there to Adelaide. Then, Kangaroo Island for several days on a sheep ranch, off to Alice Springs and the Uluru area, Cairns and the reef, then back to Sydney to head east across the Pacific. It was a wonderful trip and we truly enjoyed every day in both NZ and OZ, and hoped to get back sometime. But time got away from us and the issues of turning a lot of pages on life's calendar caught up physically. So thankful we made that and many trips to most all of Europe before those issues grabbed hold..

Cheers mate,

Gary

Are these sharks swimming around the amazing AC 75’s battling for the America’s Cup?
