Until we meet again - my 1988 S4 5-speed
With the recent acquisition of my 92 GTS I decided to sell my well loved 88 5-spd so I can fund some additional projects. I dropped the car off at a dealer that will be selling it soon on BAT. I loved that car and I'm more than a little sad to see it go. So many shared experiences and repair adventures with all your support. I would not have had the courage (or knowledge) to do most of the of the projects without your help. Thank you! Hopefully the sale goes well and the new owner will pop up as a list member so we can see her again.

Lovely! We'll be egging you on once you go live on BaT.
I also own a three pedal '88 and really enjoy it.
Best of luck with your GTS!

Yes, I am going with Avant Garde. A few people have recommended them to me. Coincidently, they are within a mile from me, I had no idea who they until I learned a friend of mine worked there as the service manager. While they haven't sold a 928 ever, they deal in cool exotics, weird cars, and Porsche. I talked to the techs and at least one is very familiar, use to be work on them at a Porsche dealership in the 1980's. All in all they seemed fluent in the 928 peculiarities. Their BAT listings look good and do well. So I think I am good hands. I send them out an a test drive and told them to drive it hard. They came back all smiles so that's a good sign. They are doing a mechanical inspection and I am curious to see what the compression check comes in at. That is something I want to learn to do on my GTS.
I was reflecting on some of the projects and catastrophes I had to deal with here are some teaser pics from some of he more exciting (or heart stopping) projects. Enjoy
Dash Recovering - and developed appreciation for upholstery professionals
Musical Radios - finding the perfect one. The car is being sold with the CD43 (CD unit) the sec.nd best in opinion. The SQR46 DAB moved into the GTS.
So many wheel options
Intake can of worms
Bike Hitch
Transmission disaster (thank you Colin for fixing)

Agreed; the 911R photography is spectacular. The car should do well under their watch!

I've followed BaT auctions for almost 5 years now. In that time, Avant Garde/911r auctions have consistently been the very best presentations, not least of all for their "Stig" test-drive videos, as well as their superb photography. I'd be surprised if your 928 doesn't set a new high for later 928 cars on BaT.
Best of luck... the least few minutes of the auction can be extremely exciting.

Beautiful venetian blue manual S4! Can't wait to see it there in all its glory. Make sure you take as many pics and list as many maintenance items done/improved there. Since it's so large now (BaT) when they used to be ~200 cars weekly to now almost 400 with auctions being finished on Sunday too, any car may get lost in their cache. Still the auction site with the most upside in terms of sold cars.
GLWTA!
