Default 928 as a Daily Driver

I've owned more than a few 928's for the past 26 years and pretty much every one has been a daily driver.

I was wondering how many others use their 928 as a daily driver?

I did for 8 years until I had to commute 100 miles a day, the 928 did that for 8 months with a few hickups (cracked intake hoses and failing ignition amps) but I retired it due to over $600 in gas a month.

Who knew 16 mpg could be so painful lol.

It got replaced with an A3 TDI that gets around 38 mpg for daily duty.

Probably doesn't really qualify but for the last few months it's been my only car and is driven daily. Puts a smile on my face every time, not to mention people flagging me down and telling me what a great car it is. Has never let me down.

Not used as a daily driver, but in the 26 years I’ve owned a 928, I’ve put about 100,000 miles on them ( or about 4K per year). It puts a smile for every mile!

Mine shares daily duty with my 911. From about April through early/mid November, depending on the rate of global warming in the particular year.

I'm doing it with the 81 I've been working on. Airport trips, errands, etc. Need to fix the hot start and ac and it will be perfect for my use case.

Drove my 1979 Euro for two years as a Florida daily driver . No problem. Worst part was the no-A\C. The funny part is that it is now well sorted, and I was daily driving it when it wasn't so well sorted out.

When I get a new AC compressor on my 1985, it will probably become my daily.

I daily drove mine for about 6 years on the NJ roads. Sun, rain, snow, ice and those lovely pot holes. Did about 80K miles doing that. She only let me down twice, and both of those were really my fault.

Enjoyed 90% of it

I'd estimate that 75% of my clients use their 928's as daily drivers.
A vehicle that can't be started and driven hundreds of miles, without reservation, is useless and needs additional work.
