I would never sell a 928 at either Barrett Jackson or Mecum. Those auctions are for American muscle.
Quoted for posterity. Tell me again which auction sold the top 928?

Just stop. People on this forum are very different from you, generally speaking. Your posts have become irritating to read at this point and you are beginning to receive that appropriate feedback.

If you like, perhaps give the forum some of your brilliant Alabama YOLO, “Diamond Hands”, To The Moon investment opinions about how this famous movie car sale has affected the value of your ‘88 automatic. 🤣

Apologies to everyone else!

An important point, unlikely to be mentioned by SCM's armchair quarterbacking later, is that the RB928 auction had *multiple* bidders from $1 Million to $1.25 Million, then a new bidder at $1.3 Million, different bidder at $1.4 Million, then $1.5 Million, $1.6 Million went fast, then $1.65 Million, $1.7 Million, and $1.75 Million as they began to finally drop out.

The above point matters because the Bidders who didn't win at and above $1 Million are in the market. They still have their money and their desire. They need product, and that impacts future pricing.

That's nice. Well worth it if you think the Bullit mustang is worth millions. Risky biz is a much more popular movie and the 928 is a much better car. And regarding the stars Cruise is a much better actor with a much better acting resume. 30 hits to 3, but McQ had more hits on the wives.

Haven't any of you seen the donut media video, lots of views, lots of love. The 928 was the best car of a generation! The ferrari's and lambo's of that time are kit cars. The one thing that will keep the price down and has for years is every thread here that asks what is this worth? "it's 25K away from 2K"

Watching "WEIRD SCIENCE" as we speak...

Anybody have a clue where the Black 928S ended up and if it ever sold for high dollars anywhere??

Also the Ferrari Mondial vert. that was in this. They'd be worth some coin now I'd think. Same awesome mid 80's movies.

This place is like an Irish bar, everyone’s high fiving at happy hour and throwing punches by dark… but we keep coming back.

Risky Business more popular than BULLITT? That's a subjective statement. If prices of movie cars set the bar, BULLITT is #1 and to be dismissive of the movie or the actor McQueen, that's just silly.

Some YouTube Vlogger will "discover" them and auction those next.

Sadly for me, the Mondial cabs haven't moved up much in price. They got a very bad rep from the previous version of the Mondial 8 which had crap performance, and poor build quality. By the time the cabs came along in 84, and the dual cam 4 valve engine picked up the performance the die was cast, and they've been the poor step child ever since. Good if one is looking to buy a Ferrari cheap, bad if one already owns the 84-91 cab. In 89 the engine was moved around, and got a bit more power, but it's still pretty cheap comparatively.

A body shell was used for the flood scenes. No one would use an intact car for such scenes.

It's actually OBJECTIVE;
BULLIT>> Produced on a $5.5 million budget, the film grossed $19,000,000 in 1968,
Risky Business was a critical and commercial success, grossing more than $63 million against a $6.2 million budget.
I don't think inflation back then is going to get you there chief.

I liked Bullit as a kid when I bought into his bs image, but he is over rated. If you ever see a real recent documentary on the guy you will learn what an *** he was, beating the **** out of women mercilessly and a pain to fans. Cruise has his own issues, but he has made blockbuster after blockbuster. I have never watched Risky Biz just scenes.

a nice 928 beats the hell out of any mustang and I am a huge fan of BOSS mustangs
