Wow, this is kinda cool... But check the Carfax for flood damage.

A couple of local Houston guys were thinking of going to the Auction for S & Gs
Should be fun and the first time B-J has come to town.

- Repainted at least 3 times (once for the movie, once after the movie, and once to get it back to look like in the movie)
- Some ~130'000 miles on the clock (which they "conveniently" don't mention, and don't show in the close-up video)
- Seats are [re]painted over
- "This 928 has resided in a climate-controlled environment in a private collection..." Yes, true, BUT only for the last few years; the majority of its life it was driven and neglected.
- "The 928 also features signatures from several members of the film's cast..." Also true, but those signatures are from 2014, not from the film's production.
- There is really very little connecting this vehicle to the movie itself

Interestingly, the currently displayed mileage (as of July 6, 2021) of 102755 is identical as it was back in April 2019.
This means either:
This means either:
- the car simply hasn't been driven at all (for more than a mile) in over 2 years; a completely possible scenario
- the odometer doesn't actually work, and this is therefore a TMU car
- the car isn't actually capable of propulsion

Its a shame. The car shows well but I too, have heard that it was hastily rehabbed a few years back.
So one of two things will happen here, it will do an ungodly amount due to its provenance likely by a phone or internet bidder. Second option is that it tanks because it has been done to a lower standard. I am sincerely hoping for the first scenario. A high tide lifts all boats.
For me anything under 45g is tanking. I am not saying it is worth that necessarily as I haven't viewed it in person. Anyone who has attended these auctions knows that the big lights hide many sins. My guess would be just north of 85k

I don't see how RB928 hammers down for less than $300k, and I'm thinking $400,000+ is more likely. Guys, the Federal Reserve is pulling out more than $1 Trillion from our economy with each operation right now just to keep Inflation from going to the Moon. That's an ENORMOUS amount of surplus money in the economy at the moment.
2021 Baby.

50 to 75 tops. May not hit 50. The other 928’s there are floundering. One was a very nice 88 S4 (And of course the idiots at Barrett Jackson think the 4 stands for four valves per cylinder - these guys know nothing about these cars). The 88 sold at 27!
I would never sell a 928 at either Barrett Jackson or Mecum. Those auctions are for American muscle.
