Default 928 Mechanics in Detroit area

Any recommendations on shops/Mechanics in the Detroit Metro area? If information is too sensitive, PM me. Thanks everyone.

For what it's worth, I bought my car from the Detroit area a year ago and the prior owner used Munks Motors regularly. I have a bunch of invoices from there in the history and they seemed to treat it well.

Mine is currently at Munk's Motors, and they are a very careful and methodical bunch. They also work on my 2001 Boxster, and have a lot of Porsche experience.

+1 on Munks. A bit pricey, but they are good. They repaired mine after a brief engine fire (another fuel hose) last October, and they got Hagerty to cover more than I thought possible. DaveK9 can also help.

Jeff Jones is at Automotive Techniques. It's been a few years, but I've heard nothing but good about him as well.

I also recommend Munks and Dave K.

Enjoy!

Default I second that

DaveK did a top end refresh for me last year during the worst possible conditions (Covid lockdown and Michigan winter). It took longer than I hoped for because of the conditions but I'd have to say Dave is thorough, knowledgeable, honest and fair.. I'd recommend him in a heartbeat.

Thank you all for the very kind words
I'm just a part time enthusiast trying to help owners keep their cars on the road, even thought frustrated at times working on these fine machines in dealing with others poorly done work, I'm still amused by what I find and gain great satisfaction when it runs as well as it looks

Thank you,

Dave K

I think the info came from you for the faster acting airbox sensor...it made my car come alive...night and day difference. Really appreciate sharing the info.

Thank you Matt, sorry I can not take credit for that one, IIIRC it was PKen who brought that mod to our attention.
