Jerry"s Early 928 Belly Pan Now Available
I finally put the finishing touches on at least one of my ReDesigned versions of the Early 928 Protection Plate / Belly Pan. It is made for the 78 thru 86 928s. I have a few more at the stage of final finish and paint, so it is time to try to fill whatever need might be out there. I was going to announce that my basic price is $550 plus shipping, but that decision is in flux because of the next available batch of material is going to cost about twice as much as what I have on hand now. However I am opening this product up with an introductory offer of $495 plus shipping. The shipping domestically is going to be about $50, which is what I will start with and then adjust as necessary. The first one I shipped a while back that was unpainted cost nearly $50.
This Belly pan is complete and is made adjustable to allow for some settling of the motor mounts. The Belly Pan comes with the hardware to mount it including a couple of oversize screws in case your top two holes are kind of hogged out as I found with one of my OBs. There is also 5 u-nuts to replace any that are missing or needed otherwise. There are also 2 8mm tools to assist in the installation; and then of course my written instructions.
I had a suggestion from a couple of guys about sending the Belly Pan unpainted. I'll do that for a further discount of $30. I'm not going to polish any of them, but unpainted will lend itself to that kind of finish if desired.
I see that PayPal is now charging nearly 5% for a transaction, so if you desire to use that medium of exchange and you want the protection that apparently comes with it, rather than use friends and family or such, you need to pay the fee. Otherwise I suggest that you arrange to pay with a Money Gram through Walmart. I had that done recently and it worked out fine for me.
You can contact me by PM here or through my E-mail which is jfeather@bresnan.net. That email is also my PayPal account.

I bought one of the early unpainted ones from Jerry so I could polish it, and it's a wonderful piece. Material is nice and thick, edges well done, fit is great. It's on my 84 Euro S.

I want to thank all of you for your very kind and generous comments about this project and the end result.
I also want to explain a little bit about my pricing for this item. I suspect that it appears as a simple $150 item, but the price I have set for it is much more. My price is based on my development of the item and the time it takes me to make one. My hourly rate for hands-on shop time has been $90 (although I have raised that recently to $120 per hour), and I put somewhere between 600 and 700m hours in the development of this item, so the development is worth about $60,000 or so. I'm going to eat most of that. It takes me about 3 hours to make one of these pans. The cost of materials is about $50, so at around $500 each I am recovering only less than $100 each for development. I will expect to eat the rest of it. I expect that when the introductory discount is over (around 50 or 60 items) the price is going to be about $600 to $650 each.

I don't even have <'86 but I followed the fab thread from start to finish. What an incredible education in the process and I can only hope one day I'll have the knowledge/wisdom/talent to achieve something at that level.
