@Darklands Which Focal model # are you talking about?
I’m a fan of the idea of gutting the existing tweets and “mounting” something new in their hollowed out carcass.
The cone fell out of one of my tweeters today and is just sitting inside the grill, haha…

Just here to post an update and let everyone know what's going on lately with the drivability issues:
In other other news, a couple of days ago, the fuel tank started leaking pretty seriously. It's somewhere on top, and only leaks when it's totally full. It's not the gasket on the fuel level sender. I'll have to pull the tank to figure out what's wrong.
Also, I made a pen cup for my workbench out of the old fuel filter:
Porsche fuel filter pen cup FTW
Cheers, y'all!
- I replaced the leaky oil pan gasket and crank seal, and it idled slightly better, but still runs poorly.
- I had a very small underhood fire that damaged my MAF. I sent it out and had it rebuilt, and also replaced all the hoses and things in the vicinity.
- I traced the cause of the fire down to a faulty fuel damper, so that got replaced as well. After MAF and damper, It idles much better, but still runs poorly under load.
- I got a better oscilloscope and did all the tests in the spreadsheet @Michael Benno linked, which led me to find a cam sensor with a crumbled and badly corroded connector. I haven't replaced it yet, but I'll let you know when I do.

There is a vent tube that connects the main body of the fuel tank with the part of the fuel tank that wraps around the "frame" to allow equal pressure at all times. This vent tube is installed into a hole in the "frame" and connects the two sides of the fuel tank. The hose degrades over time and leaks when the tank is filled. To replace it, the fuel tank does not have to be removed, but it must be lowered enough to connect one side onto the hose barb, slid through the hole in the "frame" and connected to the hose barb on the other side of the fuel tank. Tighten up the hose clamps and you should be good to go
Good Luck!
