Default Is it called "frenzy"?

928 Specialists administrators told me about the gathering that takes place in the first week of June. Where exactly is it held and are there any participants convoying down through or from New York?

No! Frenzy is in Sterling Va., the last week of September. An amazing event, not to be missed. You may be referring to Camp 928, held in June, at Curt’s place. Many great relationships are started there.

There is also 'Sharks in the Mountains' event that has been going on for most of the past 20+ years. Held in N. Carolina, sponsored by 928 Specialists (Dave and Jeannie Roberts - Dave is now deceased). Great event, and about 10-15 years ago, as I recall, there were over 100 928's present. I think it has had something in the range of 30-50 for the past 3-4 years.

Frenzy is now in it's 26th year in Sterling VA. there are usually 60-70 attendees. You an watch for announcements on all of these events in the 'sticky' section at the top of the Rennlist 928 Forum page.

Camp 928 has been mid-June in the past, but that has conflicted with Father's Day. A week later would bump us into the busy season here, and a week earlier would have us sharing the roads with a massive motorcycle rally in Lake George. But they moved Americade up a week, so we're going to try moving Camp 928 up a week, to June 8 to 11. I know being just a week after "Sharks" is not ideal, and a little disrespectful, too, though it is 800 miles from here. There are 928 guys who have never been to Camp 928 because of Father's Day.

The change in weekends means some other changes -- no stopping in at the North Hudson car show, no F1 race to watch together on Sunday morning. I'm contemplating a trip to the Saratoga Automobile Museum, where there is special exhibit of cars used in Bond films. Sunday morning? I may be able to arrange something special for the group - a car show out in front, say.

======================

Where does "frenzy" as a collective noun for sharks come from?

A few of us Canadians usually do a run down down to Waynesboro VA on the Thursday then the BRP to Banner Elk on Friday.

I have to say, I went to Curts Camp 928 last year and had a great time and met many wonderful people. You will see me there again. Check out the link in Bertrands posrt #3.

I do SITM (NC) and Frenzy (VA) every year and depending on where the Rendezvous event is taking place, sometimes do that one too. Did the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix one last year and planning to do the Ohio one this year, but that 8-9 hour window from SC is about my max for a weekend, so didn't even consider the South Dakota one a couple years ago.

I would be interested in joining a convoy of others going past or from N.Y. state.

Camp 928 looks like a 'go' for me. I'll drive with you, Walt. I'm coming up from Scranton, PA.

You gotta watch out for those Canadians. Some of them drive like a rolling chicane. I think they have a hard time understanding the difference between MPH and KPM.

What was that famous quote... "you could have waited!"? Or something like that, but Adam gets a pass, just now past me. LOL
