Default 86S S4 brake conversion bracket dimensions

Been running on these big brakes for a while and noticed a load on the front wheels. From what I can gather the brackets used for the calipers seems to be too tall and it’s causing the pad to ride above the rotor. I’m looking for a replacement or possibly some measurements to allow a machine shop to get these brackets modified correctly. The height of the bracket is 2 inches it seems about 1/4 inch would do it. There are pencil marks on the bracket indicating this maybe an home made piece. Any help would be appreciated!

Ridge due to riding above rotor

Front is angled upward

2 inches

Need to ID what type of rotor could not ID a number on it.

I'm using these adapters on my '85. If I'm not mistaken the rotors are from a Cayenne.

Yes.
Looking at your previous post, it was obvious that the brake pad was not using the inner 1/4 of the rotor and had to be sitting "proud" of the outer edge of the rotor.
Definitely the incorrect adaptor.....and more.
And even if you move the brake caliper towards the center, there will still be unused rotor surface.
Not sure what diameter rotor you have, but it is too big, in addition to the caliper being in the wrong place.
(The too large of diameter is quite obvious when you look at the differential size of the "arc" on the brake pad.)

I don't know who supplied you with this junk, but you should call them and ask why neither the rotor or the adaptor works on your 928.

The adapter on my 79 allowed me to convert to the GTS Big Blacks along with a 993 TT rotor that has the proper hat offset. I don't have dimensions, but it's a great setup that has been installed and working since 2015.

As long as you get the outer edge of the pad down below the outer circumference of the rotor so the entire pad is on the rotor, it will be fine, even if the pad's swept area doesn't come all the way down to the rotor surfaces at the hub. This is actually fairly normal if you look at more modern Porsche brake setups and also big brake conversion kits that allow larger rotors for a larger heat sink and the increase in angular momentum stopping force by applying the force in an area further from the rotational center.

This is the OEM Porsche PCCB setup on my Cayenne Turbo S with 410mm rotors. Notice that the caliper and pad don't come all the way to the hat.

This is the setup on my 79 using GTS calipers, adapters from 928MS, and 993TT spec rotors. Fronts are 2-piece Girodisc and rears are complementary 1-piece Powerslot.

Front GTS caliper with 993TT spec rotor (either 312 or 322 mm don't recall which)
