Smile Remove the rear bumper

In the DIY section there is a thread describing the rear bumper removal on a 928S.
Does anyone know if it is the same procedure for a 1987 S4?
Always easier to ask around here before diving into the WSM.

Thanks,
Henrik

its similar as to how the PU covers are held on,
except the S4 has the rear lights that need to be removed first, and the harness pushed through the PU cover .
The 86 and earlier,
the lights are bolted to the PU cover, and stay with the cover.
and then harness has to be disconnected from inside the hatch area and behind the rear quarter liners,
then pushed through the rear bulkhead, dont forget to disconnect the side marker lamps a 2 pin connector.
I use a wire brush and PB blaster on the PU attach bolts to remove as much corrosion and dirt as possible,
then a 1/4 inch swivel 8 MM and long extension to reach the bolts

Good luck Henrik!
