928 Invited to Participate in Porsche's 75th Anniversary
The 928 was invited to participate in the celebration of Porsche's 75th Anniversary. Here it is on display in the Show Room of Porsche Melbourne (a great dealership by-the-way). It will be displayed among other selected Porsche models from various decades culminating in an event this weekend to celebrate Porsche's unique history. The dealer was very enthusiastic about getting the car for the event. It was especially interesting to see the Porsche Techs gather around the car to check it out as it was driven onto the show room floor. It's likely that many of them had not seen a 928 up close before. It was a great reception for a thirty-five year old car! I left a copy of the Window Sticker, the cover photo (of this car) on the 1999/2000 928 International Catolog, and a photo of Al Holbert's 1986 World Record Run at Bonneville in the 1987 928 S4 car.
All the numbers lined up perfectly for this occasion. It's Porsche's 75th Anniversary, the 928 Model Series 45th Anniversary, the 35th Anniversary of the 1988 928 model year, and the 25th Anniversary of my ownership of the car. A fitting tribute for the 928 series in Porsche's long history.

I'm very pleased to see that people do now realise that a display of Porsche history can not be complete without a 928. This is a huge progress since I began to be involved into our community, 25 years ago

I got to see them today while I was there. Beautiful.
We are excited for tomorrow's event. We will be there in our shop 997.2 GT3 (black w/ white wheels). The 959 that's there is NUTS!
