Here is the lates version of the engraving. It is pretty small, but it looks kind of sophisticated.

I have a few of these Brace at the engraver now. I am going to take 3 or 4 of them to be anodized, probably tomorrow. I was hoping that anyone else who would like the Black anodize would step up. Are there any other takers? I have shipped four of them and have a couple in my car to ship as soon as I get the money. I should get the engraved ones later today or in the morning and can ship them probably Saturday.

I have now shipped all but 6 of these. One of those is the one I am keeping and 5 of the 6 will be anodized. black. Then the anodized ones will all be engraved. I hope to have all of that done by the end of next week. The final one to be shipped is ready to go except that I need to finish out 3 Cowl Covers to go with it. I am in the middle of that now. One of the last 6 is packaged to go to Sweden, but I have been unable to make contact with the buyer about payment, so that is kind of delayed. We were in contact pretty regularly before, so I hope he is OK.

There seems to be a bit of following of this thread, so I kind of wonder what the further/future interest might be in a continuation of this project? Is there any further interest? Send me a note or post something. .jfeather@bresnan.net.

The development of these Strut Braces is essentially complete. One might think that that is the end of it, however I am now putting this development into production, although on a somewhat limited basis, so it is more like a beginning.
I have the last of the first 15 of these at the metal finishing place to be Black Anodized and then they will be engraved. I hope to be able to put the last of them in the mail next week.
I am also working on the design of the alternate Brace that I mentioned before and that one will lend itself to Carlos and perhaps a few others with the superchargers. It is going to be made of steel and the tube will be a box tube of 1 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch. The bottom of the tube will be placed anywhere from the same as the originals to as much as 1 inch above the original bottom. It is going to open up the pinch area by quite a bit at least from the vertical standpoint, which will be of great benefit at least to the S3 guys.

I have 5 of these last Braces at the Metal Finisher to be anodized. They are not done yet, so far as I can tell, and they are apparently closed on Friday. I expect to have these last ones by early this next week. Four of those will then be engraved and that will take two or three days. Then I will be sending those four to the recipients.
However, the best laid plans of mice and men "gang oft algae." which I think translates to "often go astray." In this case I was going to send three of these Braces to Pete who was going to take at least one of them to Frenzy for Don Smith from Canada. Now, however Pete is not going to Frenzy, so I need to send Don's to someone else who is going to Frenzy in order to avoid some duty and surcharges by sending to Canada. So, I wonder who is going to Frenzy for sure that will accept the Brace for Don Smith in the mail shortly. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, Stan. I'll let you and Don know when I ship it, probably later this week or the first of next. I'll send both of you the tracking number.

OK. I have the last four or five of these braces back from both the Anodizer and the Engraver and they are JFB.
Just so you know the engraving kind of went like an artillery attack. First you shoot long, then you shoot short, and then you nail the target. My first attempt did not go over very well. Then I asked my engraver to reduce it by about 50% and he did, but he reduced it by half both length ways and up and down which in fact reduced it by about 75%. Then I had him increase it some and that resulted in about a perfect result. The end is that the engraving is now about 40% of the original excluding the "Jerry."
As a result of previous discussions, I had the engraving moved to the right end of the Brace. Now you can see the end result with the Braces that have been Anodized and now engraved. Enjoy.
