Default Jerry's 928 Strut Brace development

I have two memberships on this August forum and I am proud of that. In my personal membership I have recently posted a thread about the development of a 928 replacement front strut brace. At this point is seems to me that it has reached the point of complete development and is now ready for the marketing of it. So I have shifted the project from development to marketing. Hence this thread is in my Rennlist Business/Sponsor status.

In the "Carlos" thread by me personally, Jerry Feather, I have pretty much exhausted the market for the new Brace that i have developed, but it seems to me that the market is open for more of them. So, I have arranged for more of them to be made my me. The cost may be a bit more, but not much. The availably may be limited to 12 or 13 in each batch, and the time will depend on my ability to complete.

I will be completing in this thread the list of those who have committed in a way to buy one of the first batch, so stand by.

Here is the list of the guys that have expressed an interest in these Strut Braces. If I have missed anyone, let me know; and if anyone wants off the list also let me know.

2.Weastinc (Sweden)

4. Petza 914

6. Jason 89S4
7. Slavic
8. Donald Smith
9. Bob (RTK)
10. Adamant 1971
11. Gary Knox
12. Rob Meijer (The Netherlands)
13. 84 Dizzy (Greg Krekeler)
14. Petza 914
Edit: 15. Yves Lavigne
16. Sonny.
17. Adamant

What I would like to do now is complete the list with names and addresses and the configuration of the Brace desired, including the color of the engraving on top. It looks like most are going to be polished with holes and engraving. Gary K is at the other end with a basic mill finish Brace. His will likely go in the mail first.

I would like all of you to send the complete information to my email. The email is jfeather@bresnan.net. When I am ready to ship I will have you pay by PayPal and to Friends and Family. Don't send any money until I tell you.

At this point it appears to me that there is still some interest in these Strut Braces that I have developed in spite of the apparent fact that just about all of them may very well have been spoken for, even though those have not yet committed to actually buy and pay for one. I won't be looking for that commitment until I have something to ship.

For the chance that there may very well be an extended interest in one of these Braces I have begun a program of fabricating another one or even two new batches of these. I spent some time with the Water Jet Guy to work over the design a tiny bit (none of which you will be able to notice) and I have found a nice chunk of 1 by 6 Aluminum Bar Stock to be able to have 54 or even 55 end pieces cut out for the next two batches. I have that set up now and it will likely take two weeks for that to happen.

The next thing I will do is have them order enough of the square tubing to make one or two batches so we are not waiting for a month again for that to happen.

I need to refine some of my former tooling in order to be able to make these as efficiently as possible, so that is in the program as we go forth.

The point of this is to alert any of you that are interested to not loose heart since I am going to be making some more of these; and hopefully the wait will not be quite as long.

I have about half of the 13 or 14 Braces spoken for now listed on the complete list with finish information and several addresses. I would like to have the other addresses for this list also, and that is from two Bobs and one Don in particular. I am still waiting on the information from the guys who spoke up early on for one of these Braces and I hope they have not lost interest. I think I will go back in the other thread and send them a PM in case they are not watching the list very much

I expect to have the welding done on these by maybe even later today but by the weekend for sure. I also hope to have the engraving samples to show this week.

I have edited the list above to add an additional buyer. He is Yves Lavigne in Belgium. I put him on the present list because one of the earlier prospective buyers had opted out because he is selling his car.

I just picked up the 15 Braces from my welder and the welds look just great. I almost hate to mill some of them down. But I am anxious to do so at least to the three that show. The bottom welds are nearly flush and that is just as I ordered. These welding guys are so professional that I cannot imagine.

This is what the Brace should look like, or getting close. I still need to sand them out to a much finer finish before buffing, but this is kind of a start,

Greg, in number 3 spot above, has opted out, so his position for a Brace is taken by Sonny.

Morning Jerry,

As Adam Mentioned above I will take the one extra piece. polished finish with holes. No engraving please. Also need 3 of your engine water tray covers if you still make them.

Thanks. I surmise that you are the same as Sony? I need to know the years of the cars for the Cowl Covers. I still make them.

Edit: OK, I have the name figured out now, Sonny.

Edit: Darn! I was beginning to think about trading one of these Braces for a nice large flat SONY TV.

The position previously held, kind of, by Pete in DC. is now open. He has backed out. Any takers?
Edit: Position taken. Thanks, Adam.
