Kyle and I were just talking about this, this afternoon...
Last time, people complained about what weekend it was on...some overlap with something else.

Any input?

I think SharktoberFest has seniority over any other event for the customary weekend, whenever that is.

Seems like last time we did this (interrupted by Covid) there was some conflict with Formula 1 and something else. This year, Formula 1 is October 20-22.
Tony suggested that we move Sharktoberfest to a different time of year, completely.

Anyone with input?

Unless F1 is in downtown LA...I dont see the problem.

There will always be the "bad weekend" for three people.

It "may" have been in the other thread, but early May is Sharks In The Park in Norcal.

Got about 40 cars this year.

I've put on dozens of events for PCA, 928 groups and other car groups. There's never a perfect window and IMO why C&C has become so popular. Every time I see someone putting together an event and asking for input on dates, it turns into a mess. Those who can't make it, see you next time.

Oktoberfest is traditionally 16 days with the last day being the first Sunday in October. It always seemed cool to have a 928 gathering to correspond with the biggest event in Germany every year.

2023 is Sept 16 (Saturday) - October 1 (Sunday). If it were me I'd pick one of those 3 weekends every year. But I like tradition with these sort of things.

Late September is a pretty uneventful time of year IMHO. Aside from Octoberfest...

Just one thing. No fun run. It always gets to be a mess for one reason or another and the last thing we need to do is more driving. We already did that to get there

I don't think a Mtn fun run is -bad-, just not to split the event.

Do it Sunday as part of your trip(s) home.

Looking back through pre-covid calendars, Sharktoberfest was always held on the 3rd Saturday in October. Why change what worked for so many years??! Besides, we could come then
