Jerry's Early 928 Belly Pan - - PRICE REDUCTION
This has been a little lesson in economics. I had priced my redesigned version of the early 928 Belly Pan based on the hundreds of hours that I had put into the development and what it costs me in time and materials to make one. Now I find that I'm pretty much out of business for these, at least in terms of recovering anything for the development and perhaps some of the effort to make them. I have a few of them formed that have not sold at my original price of $395 and I have a pretty good supply of material cut to make some more of them. That is since it is all now at a kind of stand-still with the new offering from another supplier
Since I am now pretty much out of business for these Belly Pans, I find myself in a very different position. I can continue to make these for what it takes me to do that and simply eat all of the previous effort and cost. So, my new price for one of my Belly Pans is $235. That will be without paint since the painting was really kind of a pain in the a$$ anyway. The finish will be up to the user. That is plus S&H.

You actually think you can recover developmental costs, in this 928 world, where there's always someone wanting to steal your effort and ideas?
I currently only make my newest products for my own use, in my own shop, for my own clients.
The only people that suffer are the people who don't benefit from my advances in 928 technology.
However, what they don't know, they don't know, until one of my 928's drives by.
I'll take two, at $300ea.
Contact Mary for payment, when you figure out shipping.

I've been planning to buy one next time I am on the western slope, but nothing this summer has gone as planned. Nothing bad, just not what I thought it would be, so no drive-by-pickup at your place. And I'm actually hoping for one without paint... and hoping to get out your way soon.

It is terrible that peeps copy or redesign Porsche parts for the benefit of the 928 community.
Those that keep their products to themselves in such a selfish fashion should be excommunicated.
I could have sold hundreds of your belly pan but you refused to sell it to us.
Yes Karma comes around. I have already sold enough to cover my development costs.

So both Jerry and GB hope that Karma will pay back those who copy, make and re-design parts originally produced by Porsche.
"It is terrible that peeps copy or redesign Porsche parts for the benefit of the 928 community"
So I agree with them and now I am the one who is stupid - go figure!!!!

What exactly is stupid about his statement. When Porsche no longer supplies a part, we enthusiasts must make our own. Also when a newly designed part is better than the factory part isn't that a good idea? Aren't headers an improvement over the factory manifolds, how about the x-pipe, or your wheel well liners, or Rogers intake filter system. I could go on but you're coming across as sour grapes. You made a business making 928 parts, and got undercut by another business, so put your big boy pants on, grow up and move on.
If Roger were a true 928 Enthusiast, I would think that he would be referring "his customers" to some of the rest of us when he does not have an item available rather than going to great expense and trouble to simply defeat any of our outside efforts. I, and many of us, commonly refer our kind to Roger when he has something that we do not have for them.
The Karma is already in effect since I am sure that about at least 90 percent of the customers that I have recently provided my products for are most surely ones that Roger considers "his customers." I am not holding my Products from his customers in any way; and he can cure the problem that he seems to see by simply making the referral, as any of us other 928 enthusiasts commonly do for him.
My efforts to keep my products away from Roger is simply to reduce the need for two levels of Profit Margin that putting him in his requested position of "Exclusivity" would entail.
And for Jim: Why don't you stay out of this since you are not even one of us any more?
