He indicated it was one of his closely guarded products (even though I had read emails where he was shipping them out in the past). No other explanation given. I was disappointed, and a bit surprised.

So, yes, it happens.
I don't have to explain who I sell/ship pieces to and who I don't....
However, the fact that these pieces would end up in the hands of another shop (way beyond my control to "contain" my proprietary pieces) was the determining factor to not sell them.

If you had been doing this, at home by yourself, we would have made an agreement and you would have gotten the parts.
We discussed this, in detail, at the time.
So you coming here, still holding his grudge and feeling the need to vent in public, is somewhat of a mystery.
Just another version of trolling me, I guess.

I've, quite obviously, come to the conclusion that I will never be able to do anything right for virtually anyone here, so I've completely given up on Rennlist.

I'll leave this message up, for 24 hours, so you can read the previously discussed reasons why I did not sell these pieces to you, just to refresh your memory (and make others understand what occurred.) Then I'll remove it, along with everything I've ever posted, here.

Semi-retired, as of Feb 1, 2023.
The days of free technical advice are over.

Greg, I don't believe half of what anyone says about anyone else because I know misunderstandings happen. And here we are. You DID NOT explain anything like that to me in detail. Maybe you did to someone else in a similar scenario, but not to me. With your permission, I will gladly share our brief PMs, to help others understand what did or did not happen.

You are entitled to believe I am holding a grudge and trolling you because I added the facts of my experience to this thread. No mystery, however: I simply believe the more data points and facts, the better for all involved. That includes you explaining here that it was because a shop was involved. That is helpful information but I did not know it at the time, and could not have done anything about it anyway.

For my part, I could have tried harder to convince you to sell me those parts, but I had already given you the shop owners names and shop number and told you they had a lot of integrity. We were also on a schedule (blown anyway). They told me they did not understand your reluctance, since they would have gladly bought more kits from you for other 928s or 944s (if applicable) that they work on. To me, that is the mystery. My guess is you very strongly dislike having your ideas copied. I don't feel that way about ideas, but I do about "stuff" that I own (being stolen). So I guess I can kind of understand where you might be coming from. Everyone is different.

This works for me on the track with 2 very different vehicles. Early on I was black flagged for oil smoke with a home brew 406 SBC installed in a Jaguar, kind of a science project so I expected issues. Then the same issue happened with the 928 the first time I brought it to the track, I was not expecting that and felt at the time that the Porsche engineers accounted for this eventuality but alas, they had not.

Who could explain to me that installation applied to the schematic of an S4?
