Rear Muffler Bypass
The old 928 International RMB on my GTS is finally rusting out after about 15 years on the car. Is anyone still making RMBs for the later cars? I'm looking for a black one, so the polished RMB from Mufflex won't work for me.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I would look at getting your existing one stripped and then ceramic-coated black. That's if it's not rusted badly.

I got mine from 928sRus about 4 years ago (I think?) but I'd paint or coat the "next one" so you're not here again in 15 years... I just went the other way and removed an RMB from my wife's 85 (it was a home made RMB).
I used VHT epoxy paint from the autocrats store and used the HI TEMP on the pipes and the Epoxy gloss on the pumpkin and plate.
Back from Welders
VHT Gloss
VHT Hi temp exhaust paint
Media blasted

My original RMB is rusted through where the pipes connect to the stock exhaust. I'm trying to find a local shop that would be able to replace the rusted flared ends that mate to the rear muffler sealing rings. I'll attach some pics when I get a chance.

Hi Paul,
I hope all is well with you and the family. Pretty sure I have a RMB...somewhere. Just have to find it. I'll look tomorrow and let you know.

I may have no other choice. The only place I can still seem to find one available is Mufflex. I didn't want to go through the work involved with stripping and painting or coating theirs.

P.S. When you find someone to fix up the rusted out sections, then you are left with something that is simply going to rust out some more somewhere else and then we will be doing this all over again.
