Default WTB: 1989-1995 rear muffler (stock)

Hey guys! I'm looking to purchase a nice 1989 to 1995 stock rear muffler. Must be in good shape with no holes or any kind of repairs needed. Let me know what you've got. Thanks in advance!

Single outlet or double outlet? 928Intl has about 50 cubic feet of single outlet mufflers, not sure about double outlet mufflers.

Mark, do you have any twin-outlet GT/GTS mufflers in stock?

Hey Rob. Yeah I talked to Mark earlier and all he has are the single outlet 87-88 mufflers. He said he thinks I can modify the tips to dual because underneath the single outlet cover is dual outlets. I'll prolly end up going that way if I can't find a stock dual outlet 89 to 95.

Its funny the single and dual mufflers appear to be the same except for the outlet,
they both have 2 outlet pipes.

Hey Mark,

If you are planning on just sending those to the recycler, how much are you currently selling them for? I might be interested in one just to cut it open and see what is inside! (if no one else has done so)

Let me know what shipping to me in Florida, 33556, would be.

Apologies to the OP for the thread detour.

Partysover,
Here's a link to one for sale here on Rennlist: https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1346929

It is like new. I had it in my 'storage', and traded it to John, the current owner for his GT. (got a car cover in exchange). You can see from the pix it has 2 outlets, and a 'duckbill' to make it look like a single outlet. I've always thought the duckbill could be removed if one did it carefully. Won't find a nicer one, unless you get it from Porsche!

Thanks Gary and it looks great but I'm holding out for an actual GT/GTS rear muffler. Appreciate the offer though.

It took me years to get mine. Best of luck on the hunt!

Here is one on Ebay that needs a proper refresh and new tips, but it is there https://www.ebay.com/itm/15526355179...Condition=3000

And another one. Wow - about $725 delivered, and looks good but not great.

The Forgotten On and Gary Knox, those used GT/GTS mufflers on eBay look horrific and beat down hard. And at such a premium over an S4 muffler too. I've got a really nice GTS. It deserves better. I wish I knew what the outlets look like once you've got the S4 duckbill off. Are they identical to the GT/GTS muffler or are they somewhat different? I don't want to go the distance and get an S4 muffler if it doesn't look right once I'm done with the modifications. And I don't know if anyone knows exactly what it looks like underneath that duckbill. Very frustrating.

The outlets are not at all similar, it's pretty clear from Mark's picture that the two outlet pipes under that cover are connected together:

While the GT/GTS twin outlet mufflers have two independent pipes. The million dollar question is whether you can cut away the junk between the two outlet pips on the S4 muffler or do they merge into one oval tube with the duckbill cover. I will try to get over to Mark's and see what's what under the duckbill. :
