Default Anyone have a pod beyond repair they're willing to part with?

I'm working on a new gauge cluster for my track car and I need a sacrificial pod to cut up and see what's going to work. Unlike most track cars, I want to retain the pod and top part of the dash.

TIA

I've got one out of a 79 that I experimented some repairs with. The original vinyl is so brittle it cracks when pressed hard. It's yours for the cost of shipping if the others don't work out.

Or, available to anyone else for the cost of shipping if Hacker doesn't need it.

I agree with trying to keep the "aura" of the 928 when building a track car. Once I get back to working on my track car the intent is to keep the pod and cluster if I can (or at least mount a display inside the pod area). I also picked up a plastic dash cover that was originally intended to be glued on the stock dash to cover cracks etc... Just need some bracing and cutouts for the cage tubing but it should mount in there and give the impression of having the full 928 dash/pod setup and be much lighter.
I'll be interesting to see what you come up with..

I'm going to be installing a Motec digital dash / data logger the same as Turbo Todd's car in these photos. The first two images is how he ran the screen & keypad for a while, then he decided to just ditch the pod and all stock gauges.

Todd wasn't happy with how the 7" screen fit in the pod, the lights across the top were covered up. So I'm either going to live with that or go with the 5" screen instead. One option if I stick with the 7" screen and lose the lights across the top, they offer a remote light bar I could mount on top of the pod that would be in my field of vision better anyway.

I haven't decided what to do with the dash yet, but I plan to retain it in some fashion. I'd like to find one of those carbon fiber dashes someone made here several years ago.

I could use a spare bad pod for a similar project if someone has one. Preferably a completely shot upper, but the gauge recess still intact for a scan.

Slowly working on a CAN related project to grab all the card-edge inputs and transfer all the factory idiot lights and indicators onto a CANBUS for display.

IF i may believe them , i bought 928MS last carbon dashbord , must have been 2008 or 9 . It is indeed a nice cover for all that tubing.
I glued in the pod a alu plate with VDO gauges.... digital dash doesn't look period correct
