Question Front tires inside tread worn

I have an 82 5 speed with inside tire ware. Is there an adjustment that a local alignment shop can do. Thanks for any info...

Welcome to the club, Rick. I think that is due to toe out from a typical not-right alignment that doesn't settle the front end before adjustment. If you do a search you will find a lot of previous threads on alignment.

I have the same problem on my 87 Rick - the front tires are toe out (I think that is the term - they are trying to go in separate directions instead of tracking parallel). You are going to need to find an alignment shop that will align all 4 wheels while the car is resting on the suspension - it cant be lifted at all or the alignment won't be accurate. Good luck - a lot of shops won't do this...I haven't found one yet myself :-)

Rick,
Yes that's due to bump steer and bad alignment
The car must not be lifted during the alignment procidure because the toe-in/out is changing drastically with the hight (suspension)
See my article in 928 Forum magazine # 4 or study Earl Gillstrom home page - bouths will give you the answer
Kind regards from Erik in Denmark

Very common. From lifting the car and aligning immediately, then when the suspension settles the car looks like a squatting duck.

Make VERY certain that they understand that they CANNOT lift the car to check the suspension or to zero their equipment...

Rick;

Musante is Dave Lloyds outfit, you should be in very capable hands there. Just don't let him take it to the tracks.
