Fitting new window seals
Hi
I am trying to fit a new set of door and window seals on the drivers door of a 928S4, how do i get the part of the seal into the little groove on the metal strip, its driving me crazy, the eal that fits in the glass channel is fine until it comes to this small bit on the outside part, all the seal seem t obe a little bit long, I presume they must be trimmed when in place?
THnaks

Try using one of the "Screen Door/Window" Tools available at any hardware store. The one with the little wheels with grooves in them, works for me.
Try not to trim until you are absolutely sure of coverage, usually you do not need to trim those.

I assume you are talking of the OUTSIDE rubber from door to glass? If so - Wet the metal part with lightly soaped/detergent water, start one rubber ear into a groove, slide/roll a round object (eg 1" screwdriver handle) at an angle (eg parallel to A pillar, but pointing inwards also) along the other edge and it should feed into the other groove. The lubrication should allow you to slide the rubber along to the correct place once its started in. Window fully down helps also.
