Gran Prix White Substitute in a can?
I am repairing a dent and repainting for the interim the area. Does anyone have a substitute for Gran Prix white in a can at Wal Mart or Advance Auto, etc.?

I doubt you will find an exact match. If you have some time, I would check out paintscratch.com. I ordered some touch up paint for my Chiffon white 928. It's an exact match. Very satisfied. I believe they also offer spray cans.
P.S. It's good to know there's a Bail Bonds that likes 928s! You never know when you might get in trouble when driving your 928 at slightly higher than posted speeds

You can also go to an automotive paint supplier and have them computer match it. I did this, and it worked quite well. 2 little phillips head bolts removes the gas door for using the computer match!

My 89 is GP White. Touch up bottles ordered by the paint code from the Big 3 or paint houses are slightly darker and do not match perfectly. I had to go with a computer match from the gas door at a local automotive paint store.

Spray can touch up is a matter of trial and error. After you get the bodywork done, wet sand at least 6to8 inches of good paint around the primer. Fog on the spray paint in light coats waiting 5 to 10 min. between coats, feathering out into the wet sanded original paint. In a few days wet sand and buff. Even if its not a perfect match, blending will often fool your eye. White is often not that hard to match, but you have to wet sand to get a good blend, and sometimes you have to buy a few cans to get what you want. Do this right and you will be amazed. I used to touch up cars like this and make 50 to 200.00 in a couple of hours. Sometimes you can't even tell it was ever touched up, even if you know where to look, so don't be afraid to try. Be sure to tell the body shop before a real respray, which could be pretty cheap for a touch up, if you fix the blems yourself. You really can't make it worse than it already is, so have a go.
