Mine has the bung from the manifold on the passenger side, but due to all of the bends in the pipe, and all of the hoses, wires and 'stuff' in the way, it doesn't seem to have an easy path anyware. Mine seems to have a flange to mount to a rod or screw somewhere as well as s threaded rod mounted on the hose itself. I will take a photo and post later. Are these hoses necessary for anything other than a diagnositic of some type that may not be in use anymore? Should I have two of these pipes then if they are required?

Lvio, you can always pop by to see how they route on my car. The little flanges near the top of the ports, bolt to the heads. Driver side with the engine hook.

Or just delete them, they are not needed.

Worse than not needed, they will eventually leak exhaust gasses. Plug at the exhaust pipe, no need to completely remove. I believe some have plugged with a steel ball. I welded mine shut. These are not needed and are not used anyway.

What were they for? Was that something that was used before current Emission testing equipment and sniffer pipe setups currently being used for smog emissions?

I think they were used only one time - at the factory when they were making your car. My drivers side rusted out and broke off near the manifold. I didn't notice the exhaust smell until I removed about a bushel basket of leaves from my heater box. I did replace mine back to stock since at that time I didn't know if they ever had to be used again.
