if 928Spec can't get it there are a number of companies out there that can give you the formula and you then take it to anyone who does PPG and have them mix it

OR...you can remove your gas cap cover and have it computer matched at an auto paint supplier.

Worse case scenario is you'll have to make trip to Hoehn where they can order you a bottle for $17.

I got Guards red at my dealer too and the guy was arguing with me about it being a different color than the 993/996 guards red. When I waived the old bottle at him he stood there quiet, apologized and gave me the 996 red. I guess he learned something new about that color

I ordered from colorscratch.com based on a recommendation here, and it matched perfectly.

www.paintscratch.com, also for the best paint pens www.autovisuals.com, they may or may not have the color at autovisuals, but paintscratch will have it all, just make sure you match the color code correctly....

Thanks, guys!

I'll give DR @ 928 Specialists a call later this week to see if he has my colour on hand. Paintscratch.com will be the alternate.

What's the opinion of the paint pens? I've heard mixed reviews over on a BMW forum I visit (when I need info for my other car).

Yeah, I've got some Langka - need the paint.

Anyone know if my colour has a clear coat applied over it? The Porsche colour code for the '94 Midnight Blue Metallic colour indicates it as 'water based'.

You can get the color formula from Glasurit's website using your color code or name. I think all metallic Porsche paints are clearcoated, but I don't know for sure.

I bought the aero mirrors and I painted them with a spary can from paintscratch.com. Perfect match. People cannot believe that I used a spray can. I went with the 2-stage. That way you can lay all the clear you want without worry. Looks great. I'd be hesitant on the Porsche paint because paint does have a shelf life - and I'd say many of the Porsche brand paints may be beyond their prime. I highly recommend paintscratch.com.

I've also used their touch up paint bottles. Works perfectly. But remember if you have metalic paint, the only way to get it to really blend is to spray it on - otherwise the flake will not suspend correctly and you'll alway be able to tell. If you want more info on this let me know. However, for solid colors, it works great. Just remember to prep the area really well and the dab the slightest amount onto the chip. It may take you 5-10 coats to build it up, but you MUST be patient and resist the temptation to fill the chip on the 1st pass. After you have built it up, let it cure for 2 weeks. Then you can wet sand with 1500-2000 grit. Follow with rubbing compund, and wax. The results are awesone. I can only find one of my chips. Now the gouge ont he front bumper is another story, but at least it matches the color of the car...
