we cut the bottom coil off all 4 corners springs. (one full coil) it takes 2 cuts though, one to make the cut and the other to get the coil off the shock.
ride hight is no problem as the adjusters are usually near the bottom. one coil only drops the car an inch or so.

How can you tell which is the top and which is the bottom? Mine looked pretty uniform.
Have you tried them as is? You really do not need to make them stiffer. If you want race springs DEVEK sells them.
I have run the eibachs on the street and track for a few years now. There is no lost motion due to the progressive nature, not that I can feel anyway. Do what you like but it seems like a pointless exercise unless you plan to compete.
Probably the easiest way to tell would be to set them on a hard surface and start piling weight on until you see compression.

on exam of the eibach springs (fronts) it appears that the bottom of the spring is the part that is progressive. On the bottom of the spring the coils are closer together. So i went ahead and cut one coil off the bottom using first an angle grinder which is a bit to large then i used a dremel tool. Was not that bad at all... I will finish up today and give you final results.....my goal is to stiffen the suspension a bit without the cost and labor of changing the springs then getting an alignment.

Er, did you measure ride height before to restore to same ride height.
Otherwise I think you'll need to affect toe angle change if the ride
height got changed.
I get enough "push" (understeer). Would rather stiffen rear sway a tad to get
less "push." (Been watching too much Mashcar)
Ernest (NYC) Front Eibachs only gets me 175mm ride height at max.

this depends on the shock, and the adjusters as well as other things. all of my 928s converted to eibachs, and ive done 5 of them, had a hard time getting the koni versions lower than 175mm!!
bilstien seem to be much lower than konis, which seem to be the worst, as they cannot be adjusted down to anywhere near an acceptable lower ride hight, especially on a lightened 928.
toe doesnt go too crasy, as long as it was originally adjusted with a slight toe in, as spec calls for. However, if the aligner lifted the car, you will be toe'ed out to begin with and lowering the car will only make it worse.
Its easy to measure. put a straight edge down the front and rear of the front tire and make a mark on the ground. then, after getting both sides, you will have 4 points. measure the difference of the front two marks to the rear two marks of the front tires. if you are more than 1/8" wider rear than front, you are toed in 1/8" and thats good . you are ok up to about 1/16" tow out. after that, you could get some bad tire wear.

Thats exactly what we did it worked EXTREMELY well. scot will be racing the 82 part euro racer this season set up this way . ive driven it many times. its awesome!! cutting the springs was the answer for lowering and stiffening. I estimate we went from 400lb fronts to about 600lb fronts, rear feels like 250lbs going to 350lbs. but thats a guess. I have no idea what the eibachs rating is actually. All i know its that they are pretty soft to begin with. great for street, but marginal for track use.

finished, not that bad if you have the right tools......conclusions - with one coil cut only from the front the susupension is perfect ! Not super stiff but nicer...still has the intial travel over bumps but not as much....As for the rear they are stiff enough for me right now...
thanks all
