I just checked mine and am happy to report that both clips are solidly rusted into place.

Why don't you run over to the corvette forums and ask if that problem where the roof blows off at freeway speed was ever addressed? Or over to the Ford forum and ask about the problem where a switch(IIRC in the cruise control/brake system) would stick and burn the vehicle to the ground when you weren't even driving it?

Why do you keep saying these things when any car can have these issues and/or kill you? I seem to recall in your early days here you wanted your car to run perfect without putting any maintenance effort into it. If you want a car that can't ever break check with Nicole -- I think she has some solid metal 928 keychains.

Nice fix.

I've been meaning to check this for oh....4 years now. I'll run out there right now. Or when I finish the Father's Day glass of wine. If not then, when I wake up tomorrow. Definitely will check it real soon.

Thanks for the reminder!

Dave +1. My favorite new complaint is the GTS rear wheel well liners. What a a fine example of devolution!!! Sidehatch is just exhibiting "insider trolling," I think he enjoys throwing a bit of meat on the fire. I wouldn't be here if I wasn't willing to pay the price of ownership. There is also the "Wilhoit" factor. He credits the 928 with saving his life, so there's that too.

Yeah, I know how to do that. This is the same mechanism in the human mind that makes it so hard to look away from a train wreck -- or, as I'm sure you well know, requires that we all slow down to look at what emergency crews are doing on the roadside as we pass.

Actually, the clip does not have to come off for it to jam and do damage. If the headlight jams and fails to come up, sometimes the activation arm will twist in return and hit the HVAC cooler. Last winter, my headlights froze up and this happened. Luckily, it just bent fins and didn't perforate anything.
