That's me, after every ticket I behave for a little while. Then I'm back in the saddle again...

Also,
Funny, last time I was pulled (headlight - report and repair) the ossifer was an absolutely stunning dark-haired petite pixie of a girl. She was a fresh rookie, she didn't even know that the report-and-repair fine is waived if you fix the issue within a week (locally anyway), but I didn't hold it against her...

Hi Heinrich,
This was a few years ago. I had a good radar detector. He got me with instant on laser. I was on 95 comming out of Florida. 4 lanes of smooth asphalt on both sides. I look at as a blessing. He got me slowing down. I just had to see if that Alfa Romeo GTV-6 would redline in 5th gear. It did at around 145 or so. I took pics of the dash but the reflection on the dash distorted everything. Man that car sounded great over 5k rpms. I sold that car with 25k miles for 6500.00 to the pres of the Alfa club in Raleigh NC. The cop said he actually saw the radar detector go off and laughed. He was a nice guy. I hope to never experience that again as long as i live. Man, life without hourse power is a life without joy!

Well, OK, I will comment. Listen to Heinrich. NEVER admit to the charge. NEVER assume that if the smokey bear used instant on you are toast. I was radared as I came around a corner into direct sight of a bear parked in the bushes dead ahead of me and the V-1 went from silent to steady locked on bleep. The bear asked me if I knew how fast I was going. I replied: "You tell me". He repeated that statement in court like the ****** he is. The verdict: Not Guilty; Case Dismissed.

You are not guilty until you have been proven guilty and have exhausted your remedies. The first question out of your mouth should be: " Where were you when you first saw me and how did you determine my speed?"

God Bless America.

Bott:

I must agree that this site offers some hope. However, parts are dangerously out of date. Specifically, the information on red light cameras, which states that Lockheed Martin is operating the camera system for profit. They are no longer associated with the system in San Diego county and probably not in other counties. Probably because the information re: CA statutes prohibiting private for-profit companies from operating such enforcement schemes IS illegal as stated on the site. Also he claims that red light cameras are a "speed trap", though that assertion may not stand in court.

Just a couple of flaws I found in this guy's site. I applaud his efforts to offer tools to fight this revenue producing and safety reducing system, but his information is not current and that could prove disastrous and expensive.

Now Sweanders, aren't you ashamed of yourself? You are accused of such a terrible crime against your fellow members of society. You should go home and feel terrible for such actions. And in such a high powered machine as well. That's just awful.

I actually agreed with the police officer and he gave me a bit of a discount since I was honest about it. I did however fail to mention that I had been travelling at twice the speed only minutes earlier (and later)..

Well......in that case......I guess you can continue about your business. But bear in mind that behaviour is totally forbidden and extremely dangerous. I know this to be true because....., because......., well, just because. But I know that you would never ever repeat such behaviour, particularly in California, so I won't worry about it. And I have also heard you have been spotted drifting a 928 from time to time.

Due to a recent lack of 928's to drive I don't speed in them. Can't wait to get my 951 back on the road again with that new efficient turbo so that I won't be speeding for as long periods of time at the time..

Btw, is there anyone here who can check the NV and CA police files for the purpose of finding statistics of unpaid speeding tickets from Swedes during 2005? I am not sure if I dare to go back..

Just call the police dept. and ask if there are any warrants out for you. If there are, you should know that they will arrest you on sight if they spot you. The food is terrible, and I have heard of people "slipping in the shower" in jail here. Otherwise, its free rent for awhile. You'll meet the nicest people in jail; accused murderers awaiting trial, rapists, sexual deviants, thieves, punks. They'll like you, 'cause you're new blood. You'll like that. The ones who've been there the longest are the most friendly....for obvious reasons. I've even heard of people getting their throats slit in jail. Bad Karma coming back to them.

Seriously, if you plan to return, I would not set foot in the state without first paying any outstanding warrants. Otherwise, prepare for a body cavity search; you won't like that.

Hey, Anders, if I don't bail out of here soon, maybe I'll see you in here.
Been here awhile, and its getting old.

There is no such thing as "speeding". All things are relative.

Yeah, I usually carry fresh donuts with me at all times. Never know when I come upon a hungry bear. But I was out the other day, and so the alternative was ....well, we all know the rest of that story. I didn't think it was funny either.
