In my driveway at least, don't ask me how I managed to do this! What are the odds of getting out of this gently? Can a locksmith crack "the safe" on one of these?

I've got an uncut blank that the PO gave me, and guess what I've not done yet....

I've had luck with a locksmith using a bent wire type slimjim (84 S). They had a catalog of the wires used on different cars. Call some in your area and mention 928.
Or, try the floor plug method (86 S).

I called Pop- A -Lock and he printed out a chart that they had and got in to my '86 in about 30 minutes.

Thanks guys, and I got word on the super secret "port", but I don't want to screw up my coating. So, I'll take my lumps with the locksmith. The post referenced will help!!

Just out of curiosity, on the older 928s when the battery dies the locks open (at least that was my experience). If that were true on the newer 928s, you could disconnect the battery cable from the starter right?

I fully expect someone to point out the error in my beliefs

Might want to talk with a psychiatrist as well...to get to bottm of these "feelings of rejection"...and so forth..probably due to the 911, so the 928 is "reaching out...for the attention it so desperately needs...". Kinda like having a kid sister or something.

Pulling the battery ground strap on my 84 with the doors locked doesn't unloack the doors. That's how I keep the battery from draining. Open hatch, lock doors, diconnect battery, close hatch.

I do the same thing every day. Lock doors, open hatch, disconnect battery at disconnect switch and then close hatch and go into house. I gave up on finding my gremlin long ago.

I get the same flak over on Pelican about the 911 being neglected. This "dual citizenship" is rough on the soul!!

Depends on how long ago college was...in these days of ludicrous prices @ B-J auctions, you'd be better off rattle-can spray painting a new Bentley!

It really was wrong, but I suspect it was the alcohol logic that made it seem right at the time. We were pondering what to do about keys locked in the car, and one of the engineer majors suggested it as a viable solution, and he thought it was a good quick fix at the time, coming from an engineering student and all. Driving back to campus sitting on broken glass wasn't so bad, until the next morning of course.
