killing them softly
So, I'm on my way to a volleyball game tonight and I get behind a newer Mustang with some very nice sounding pipes. I've always liked the sound of Mustangs, especially with flowmasters or something comparable. He must really like the sound of it too, since he's driving in low and racking them off every stoplight. I hang behind him, resisting the urge to roll on by, especially since I see Johny Law directly behind me. I'm nearing my destination so, I change lanes and we come to stop at the next light side-by-side. He revs it up high gives me a head nod, 'sup? He's too interested in me to notice that one of the county's finest is right behind him. The light turns green and I goose it a little, enough to jump him and then I just proceed leisurely, taking the next left, but that was enough to get him to take the bait. He hauls a$$ like we're on Pinks and it's do or die time. Johny Law takes an immediate interest in him and runs him down, lights a-glowin'.
I almost feel guilty. Never had much of a conscience, though. I'm sure Karma will catch up to me soon.

This almost happened to me once but the other guy was a little nicer. This was 30 odd years ago in another world. I was driving a 66 Dodge Coronet street hemi. I finally cought up with a 66 Plymoth of the same persuasion after trying for many a day. I pulled up beside him, looked him in the eye and reved the engine a couple of times. He just looked at me, shook his head and pointed behind us. I looked in the mirror to see one of NC's finest with his lites on. He gave me a ticket for 45 in a 35. Man, I am glad the other guy didn't do the same thing you did. No telling what would have happend I have never been so stupid since. 'I always look behind me now before I do such things'

Jeff,
Back then no seat belts were required, insurance wasn't much and I only paid $750.00 for that car with 45k miles on it. God, i wish I had that car back. I have never seen another one like it. I drove it on the street every day, the strip every weekend. Pressure plate came apart one day comming off the like at 5k rpms. One of the worst days of my life

I had a friend that got took up a challenge and got the guy going pretty qick on a road he knew very well. He waited and braked at the last minute before a deep dip in the road. Other guy didn't see it and my buddy said all he saw was sparks! Very dirrty I know but the look on that guys face must have been a doozy. Great story, I would have been the guy that got pulled over.

Had something similar happen to me when I had my 500e. Pulled up next to a El Camino that sounded pretty mean with a young kid in it. He revved, I looked and thought "this will be funny" and we both took off when the light turned green. Funny thing is that neither of us noticed five o behind us as we blasted forward. Yeah I was in front until I noticed the lights come on behind us. I thought "oh S__T"! Luckily the cop just turned his lights on and off as a warning........I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the lights come on.
