Thanks for all the nice comments! Yes, it looks very nice - I love it!

To answer a few questions:

Regarding the shifter: It came from Jager Engineering and was my favorite product - but is now NLA. I still have one in all black that is tentatively sold, and another one in silver that is chipped and needs refinishing. The latter I won't offer until I know I got it to look perfect. I hope we'll be able to offer a new wide button shifter solution in the near future. I'll keep you posted.

Someone said I only put wood on the door vents and door openers. Well, there is wood on the console inserts and on the rear AC as well as a few other places. In fact, it's so much wood, I might reduce it a bit after Sharktoberfest. But I want people to see all available pieces there, so they can make their own decisions.

The rechtangular center vent piece has been available for a while. There is also a version with two round vent openings, and you can add trim rings withi dimples in aluminum, stainless, or bronze.

Regarding the knobs in the console, I like them consistent with the ones in the pod. No need to introduce an additional type of switches. However, we have a nice way of dressing those up with aluminum, stainless or bronze covers. I did not put those into my car, but will have samples at Sharktoberfest. If you're interested in those, just PM me and I'll provide more details.

Nicole.............I'm into the more technical/mechanical side of our cars leaving the 'cosmetic' stuff for other but I must admit that dark red wood really is striking against your interior; excellent work.

BTW, I notice from your sig the exterior of your car is 'slate grey metallic'...........could you post a pic of it please? A GT is for sale close by which is apparently the same colour but its rough and I'd like to see what a good condition car looks like.........thx.

No problem. In this case you actually have to thank jorj7 (George Suennen) who took these great pictures at the DEVEK Days fun drive...

BTW: Did anybody notice how the classic grey carpet always looks pink in photographs, but if you see it in real life it just looks grey? Really strange...

Thanks for mentioning the carpet thing Nicole. I've been wondering why so many people are installing a Lavender tint carpet. No, I'm not kidding.

I think it's how that carpet reflects the light from the flash. It doesn't look like that at all under normal lighting conditions.

Default Pimp My 928

Nicole, that looks just fantastic! I am so jealous. I was able to get one of the last shifters from Veronique that was slightly scratched, which matched the overall motif of my slightly bent and scratched 86.5. A little additonal bling to the dash with the blue LED's makes for a nice effect.
Still chasing down a few electrical gremlins after having everything off up to the firewall to replace all the actuator diaphragms.

I agree whole heartily on the shifting as well as improvements in vacuum to the systems.

Really well done.

Top notch fit and finish........but the red tint in my eyes is too fake looking, and not fitting to the car colors, i think "silver Maple Burl" would of been the best fit and more of what the "factory" would of done. I some times think people try to hard to get a color contrast in thier cars interiors, and its rarely done right. becase our cars dont have accent peices that connect to each other thiers no fluidness to them , if thier was it would be much simpler to add brighter contrasts that would work.
Otherwise you just get many seperate parts that look the same but dont connect and stand out too much. Just little ramblings from a designers eye..

I was considering multiple different options, including the bloody burl shown here, my all-time favorite African Rose, and a greyish synthetic wood we have available.

However, you have to keep in mind the goal I had with this: I wanted to warm up the interior - so the grey wood was not suitable for this project's goal. Besides, the classic grey of the rest of my interior is a slightly reddish grey, so what better than to use a material that corresponds to this tone?

I was not trying to change the actual interior design of the car - just dress up the materials already there.

I'm not sure why it bothers you to cover the drab black plastic with a warm real wood veneer, but you certainly are entitled to your opinion. Different tastes are what makes this interesting and keeps our sharks from looking all the same.

Enjoy yours, while I enjoy mine...

What color wood inserts look best with an all black interior?

Nicole,

Well said, and I think wood adds class to any car interior.
