John,
Jim, thanks for responding to this call for help. This is going to be helpful to Kevin's cause I believe.
Kevin's winding things up with the insurance company, and the information that everybody has provided in this thread and in PM's have been invaluable to his efforts. Thanks to all.
This community is like no other. Kevin is realizing that, and I think we'll all be seeing him on this board when he gets his replacement 928 (this isn't about cashing out, btw...it's about a like replacement)....and when he can figure out how to log on to the site.
I'll post an update.

Whats the name of Kevin's insurance company? It would be valuable to know if they screw him for us to stay away from that company.

Make a list of insurance companies that screw people and it won't leave anybody out. Each case is going to be unique.

J.P.,

I Kevin has a chance to buy the car from the insurance co for a reasonable amount, tell him to pass the deal to a fellow rennlist member instead of having the insurance co auction the car.

Hint, me me me me :-).

Tell Kevin I am local and can afford the car if he decides to make a little more cash from it.

J.P.;

As much as I hate to be a vulture... since everyone else is throwing offers around, let me say that if he decides to sell the poor car that i will outbid ANYONE for this car. Some things are worth saving.

There are people on this list who think a 10k run is a trip to the ATM.

Wow Jim. Sorry for your loss. But I must say, if my wife supported me like that, she'd still be my wife. Sorry,
Hey Tomcat, the ironic part is she hated the 89 almost as much as she hates the current GTS. She's never been a car fan, just doesn't understand our love for automobiles. She won't even ride in either one and only drove the 89 once in 7 years of ownership. But still she's a keeper.

I'm a lucky guy, my wife is as much of a car nut as me.

Here are a couple pictures of the affected 89 GT.... this makes me so sad.

Funny, my wife felt the same way. She "hated" to ride in my 928 with me. And talk about not being a car fan, I took her to visit a friend of mine at the Land Rover shop and she started to complain about the shop smell as soon as she crossed the threshold. Got the feeling she really didn't want to be there. Should have made her stay for a couple of hours.
