You are not a paid up member. Only paying members are allowed to post wanted or for sale posts.

That's right, and that's what a free market is too - Rennlist has rules which all are encouraged to read, and if you don't like them, then go somewhere else. It's a private entity, and can set its rules as it deems fit, and members voluntarily subscribe to them. If the rules were not appropriate, then the market would either force Rennlist to change them, or it would go out of business. Simple free market/capitalist theory. Best bet is to read the "New Visitor" thread, then comment on whether the rules make sense or not.
Anyway, you are wise to be on here to learn as much as you can about the 928 and getting great tips on how to get them and keep them running

Ed beat me to it - but my response is basically the same...

Who made the stupid rule? The owner of this website that allows this forum to exist. You play by his rules - this isn't a democracy. You choose to use his servers and bandwidth without paying? Then you don't get to enjoy the full privileges of membership. Pretty simple IMHO. And seriously - for about $1.50 a month? It's pretty much a no-brainer Rick. The terms and conditions for posting here is that if you want to buy or sell you must be a member - you agreed to it when you signed up.

You are more than welcome here - i'd love to see more details on your 914/928 beast . But John D. makes the rules because this is his place - we are all just guests...

Looking forward to seeing member designation on your profile soon!

Rick,

I don't own a 928 either... yet. But I joined yesterday as soon I as I was reminded about the rules and Jenn sent my membership to me today. Now I have to sign in using it and not the temp (LOL).

God I love capitalism and I look forward to getting my first "Shark" and posting pictures for all to see. I'd love to see more of your car also.

Don

It has a hell of a lot more to do with protecting us than making money.

At least this way John D has some legal information on everyone that is "allowed" to offer parts for money or request parts from other people.

This is the internet, 99% of the people on the web are trying to rip someone off. Allowing only members is no guarntee, but is sure helps.

Crooks are after the low hanging fruit. A site that requires everyone who is looking to exchange money one way or the other is an obsticle. So many of the crooks choose other sites.

BTW, read your website - it's a cool concept - sort of a Carrera GT inspired concept if you ask me - strapping a rocket into the back of a light body! It'll be fun to follow that progress. Have you considered the handling characteristics of the heavy V-8 out back? What will it handle like in the corners?

The difference is you were looking for parts, looking to purchase something.

So, you're seriously not willing to spend $18 to find parts that you are going to need and get access to the most populated 928 forum in existence?

Truly frustrating for the legitimate, however such rules limit the SPAM. With out those, this forum would be filled with dozens of useless, new threads daily, making the quest for useful knowledge that much harder. It would also make legitimate transactions between legitimate members more suspect.

I have to say, the $18 I spent supporting this site almost a year ago was by far the best money I have spent on the shark.

Most everyone here goes way out of there way to help others. Shoot me a PM with what you need, and I'll post it up for you.

It might make a little more sense to you if you take about 10 minutes and ask yourself, "How would I go about creating a service like this to handle the needs of a few thousand people, and what would it cost me?"
The real surprise here, is that we can be a user at all without paying.
Generally someone who spends any time at all worrying about being someones bitch, has problems that $18 is probably not gonna solve.

Wow Charley, your post is a tough read.

I didn't read the original post and it sounds like the wording could be incorrect, but the new post sounds well within the charter.

*OOPS* I stand corrected.
