Pop up lights and washers
Hi
When I activate the pop upo headlamps they come up and down and keep doing this, this is the first problem.
Second problem is while they are moving the headlamp washing system as is active which may look quite cool but obviously causes me a problem
Where do I look for this problem?
Any ideas welcome
THanks
Paul

Jack,
FIRST, ALWAYS, the relay! This is a double unit, special, $85 from Big 3. My problem was they went up but wouldnt go down. New relay fixed it.
Inside the end of the motor is some wiping contact switches that tell the relay where the lights are (ie, wait until UP signal before turning the bulbs on). There is a faint chance the problem is in here. Once the motor is removed, its not hard to get to the contacts and clean them. Just note which colour wire goes in which socket at the 4 wire plug.
The washers, I dont know anything about (yet).

Hi
I have changed the relay from a spare fusebox, it still does the same so its probably the contacts inside the motor.
Biggest problem is the washers active the minute the lights lift whichh is a real problem!!!
Will keep looking
Thanks

Two separate problems, I think. The headlamp washers don't work unless the lights are up, so it sounds as if the washers are stuck on.
If they are stuck on, the only time that they will operate is when the lights go up.
