Post 1979 manual tranny ?

Will a 1979 5 speed Euro manual transmission fit in a my US 1982 with existing manual (bad syncros) tranny.
Does the Euro tranny have the same symptons on the syncros as the US type tranny.

The only difference between the Euro and US-Spec transaxle are the gear ratios and the final drive ratio.

So, yes a '79 transaxle will fit your '82 928 and yes a Euro transaxle is also is subject to worn synchronizers. The 1st - 3rd gear synchros are most prone to wear.

It will not fit !! 78-mid 1980 is a 28/03 , your car needs a 28/05 or LATER !! Unless you wish to change the central tube (different length) and clutch short shaft ...possibly the rear suspension cross menber for different mounting location for the transmission mount ...
