ABS electric draw
I've determined my car has 2 sources of current draw when it sits; one is the interior light and the other is the ABS.
I know of the ABS relay on the panel which is new and the other relays inside the drivers front wheel; appreciate anything else I should check/replace?

thx Andrew but more specific to the ABS system; as how to fix from BTDT.
Recognise that the relays under the drivers front wheel are in such a location that the effort to get in there you may as well replace.
The wheel sensor wires are in a precarious place; anyone had anything go wrong there?

Let us know how much they are.
(*) However, the main power feed to the hydraulic unit - unfused - could be a suspect. Since the rather thick power wire has to be unbolted and unrouted for each timing belt replacement, I find that it usually needs some heat shrink to keep it safe. A big short on this wire can burn the car to the ground.

thx Dave..............$48 for one and $79 for the other and I just replaced the relay on the panel ~$80.
I'll recheck that power wire; just in case!!!!

And don't lose that little black plastic cap that clamps on the junction.
Sproing! I tugged on mine without good grasp and it's lost in the engine bay somewhere.

Was told that the little plastic cap is not a specialty part.
I'll ask to see where the little buggers can be bought.
Just installed a fresh one last week.

Think I've got intermittent front wheel ABS sensor wire.
Fault goes off when I do a hard turn or sometimes when I hit a good sized bump.
Read about the ABS power junction and thought I'd go in and tighten it up.
Didn't have a #4 or bigger phillips screwdriver to really crank it down but it seemed tight.
Just trying to eliminate all the loose ends, so to speak.
Done the relays, got 4 new ABS sensors. Cleaned all the iron fuzz off the sensor ends.
Did you know the later replacment sensor I got are a bit shorter and don't require the rubber o-ring.
Now the ABS fault is there to keep me on my toes till I locate the real gremlin.
Seemed that way on a side by side comparison.

If I read your post correctly you replaced all ABS relays and sensors and still have an issue?
Does the issue affect your battery? or just the ABS operation?

Malcolm, I've got an extra set of ABS pump relays if you want to give them a test. I can yank them out of the extra pump I've got, send them off and if they don't fix the issue you can send them back.

Did the usual suspect chase. Still get the ABS! once in a while.
Didn't find battery issues with the ABS.
Cleaning up battery contacts and ground straps plus rebuilding alternator with a good voltage regulator made the car much more electrically stable. The old alternator just didn't have enough amps to keep the car running.

Sounds as if you had different issues Ernest...........thx for the input.
Dave............I re-looked (since my tbelt install) at that seroius power cable that electrifies the ABS system; cable is good as are the connections.
Word of caution to all who may be following along................Daves statement that this cable is unfused is absolute.............be very careful in this area. I now wonder if I damaged the realys when doing the tbelt project but I'm sure the batt. was disconnected.
