Default 85 EURO FOR SALE (Slow Traffic Move Right!)

Hate to do it, but lack of time, space, money, etc, and a house remodel force the sale of one of the most photographed 928's! (You've all seen/commented/heard about my windshield banner!).

I think $7500 is a GREAT deal for a Rennlister. (That's almost less then I've spent just on upgrades!). Clear title IN HAND. I can probably assist in delivery withing 500 miles for the price of my gas.

Here's the details (Pics at the bottom)
1985 EURO S A/T

(VERY strong running shark - Former SCCA Regional Solo2 BSP Champion!)

Maintenance done in last 5k miles:
TB/WP
Both head gaskets
Motor mounts
Oil Pan gasket
Tranny filter and fluids
Oil changed and brakes bled RELIGIOUSLY
New Chin Spoiler
More

Extras:
17” 996 Wheels with Fuzion ZR-1’s with 90% Tread. F-225/45 R-275/40
(Have the original dishes and a set of S4 dishes that can be negotiated)
Original OTT X-Over
Koni/Eibachs
Steroid droplinks
GT Big Black Brembo’s
Push/Pull elec fan conversion
more...

Interior condition is very good.

Body is very straight.

I will include BOXES of spare parts AND a Full 9-volume set of WSMs!

The bad:
Needs a respray. Paint is still very good on the sides, but the clearcoat is ‘exploding’ on the roof , hood and top of front fenders. (The pic of the hood – the paint is NOT washed out, as it shows in the pic – it is a glare)

Pass seat is stuck all the way back and the back is so far forward you can’t sit in it. The switch is out – I have a replacement that will be included.

A/C blows cold, but has slow leak. Needs Freon about 1x/month. (AND – has a ‘piece of history’. The A/C compressor is off of the Holbert car! I bought it from Mark K. a couple years ago – not that it adds any value, except in the minds of us sharkoholics!)

No radio (I have a 30gb Music Hard disk system and a Preamp with an iPod input connected to a Sony xPlode – these are negotiable) Has aftermarket speakers that stay – Sounds great!

She’s been sitting for a few months (until last weekend – DAMMMM I love driving this car – and has picked up a few elec. Gremlins…windows and sunroof aren’t working – likely just needs Wally’s Yearly Electrical PM)

Yea...me either - but I plan to get a GT or GTS in a couple of years...so I'm just taking a short break.

BTW - you know my car well - I think I have it priced VERY fairly - u agree?

Not to burst your bubble, but given the present economic climate I think $7500 for a perfect car would be difficult.

Bein' as how this is America, folks should consider that publicly 'trashing' another's car is somewhere between heresy and something worse. There's a Golden Rule, and the "if ya can't say sumpthin nice" addages to consider. Bottom line -- If you don't care for the offering, don't buy it. We are our own worst enemies when we sadistically drive down the market for the cars. The whole market moves together, so when you trash the value of Mark's car, you dimish the value of all the other 928 cars, including mine. If you want to give your car away cheap, that's fine I guess. Don't try to scare others to do it though. It's close to horse thievin' which is still a hanging offense.

Thanks, Doc!

I didn't take offense to his comments. AND - Based on my description and pics, I think I'm being quite forthright about my car. If the consensus is that the car is overpriced, then I will consider other offers.

Nonetheless - as I am a LONGTIME R'lister and great supporter of many here (umm...how many sharks have I towed for $0 at SITM???) and the history of my car over the last 5 years is well known on these boards...'nuff said.

Doc get real. My comment was more an economic observation than a "trashing" of Mark's car. I was planning on selling a 280SL Mercedes but now I'm going to wait. Discretionary spending isn't very strong right now.

It's been said here before. Buy cars from Rennlisters, sell them to civilians. It's the same as buy low sell high.

You couldn't ask for a more trustworthy seller to buy a shark from. If Mark says it, you can bank on it. This is a nice '85 Euro, even with the need of some paint work, most Sharks have some needed items. Just look again at the maintenance recently done within the past 5k miles and the upgrades it's got too. And again, if Mark did the work, you know it was done right. You won't be complaining about problems with work done by the PO if you buy this car. Mark if you don't get offers close to your asking price here, then either sell it elsewhere, or keep it, but don't give it away.

Mel - Thanks for the compliments! As I said earlier - I think I am being very forthcoming in my description and pics - even using some crappy pics. I'm gonna get some more shots this weekend. As you (and anyone that's seen the car) know - it is a VERY strong running EURO and has an interior that is about an 8.5/10!
