Default 944 guy looking at a 928

I found a 1987 928 s4, Automatic, power seats, A/C, Nice paint, good interior.

Its white with burgundy interior. Also it has 89k on the odometer.

I was wondering what you think its worth?

And I got dibs on this one for now!

Does the seller have any receipts for past work or maintenance records? Any more pics?

What is the seller asking?

They have the rear 8 inch rims on the front , 7 inch fronts on the rear. It is around a 10 k car plus or minus a few thousand depending on PPI , paint , records History.

IIRC there was a white car with burgundy S4 that had thrust bearing failure it was in Columbia SC wonder if this could be the same car, A dealer was selling it last year and more than a few people bought the car and got about 2 miles away B4 the engine would stop running.
The wheels could all be 8 inchers or they could have the 8s on the front or the 8s on one side you can see if you look at the depth of the wheel lugs and the spokes of the wheels 7 in spokes are just about flush with the rest of the wheel 8in are angled........ deep lug bolts indicate 8 in rear wheels

For the engine condition make sure you get a PPI but first ...... to find out pull the dipstick drip some oil onto a black piece of cardboard after you have run the engine, go into the sunshine and look at the sample.
If oil looks silver or you see metallic particles run

Do yourself a favor, read the FAQ at the top of the page so you dont have to keep asking questions that would be answered had you read the info there.
There is also a PPI checklist buried in there, all of the questions you have asked will be answered from that thread

Good luck.
Hope the PPI shows the engine is in good health.

And careful on the test drive if they don't swap the 8" wheels back to the rear axle.

Car's spent most of it's life in NJ AutoCheck estimates 4 owners. It spent a few months at auto auctions in Pa and NY before ending up in MD. Nothing bad in it's history that jumps out at you. Auto check score is 55 out of a range of 34-66. Hopefully the PPI turns out well. Not crazy about the color combination but may be an OK car. Check around on the price, Edmunds, KBB, etc. Good luck!

Nice car...and good price....if a knowledgeable 928 mechanic can't find anything wrong with it. Don't waste your money on a Porsche dealership PPI. They seldom know these cars.

The white paint is one of my favorites. I don't mind the interior either. After all, it's a 928 and they all can run the socks off of most cars. Mechanical condition trumps color.
