Default Tires. Toyo or Fuzion ?

I'm specifically looking in the 245/45/16 size. Anybody running the Fuzion zr1 or the toyo proxes T1r ?

Anything you like better, and where can I get it ? I really like my Kumho ecsta supras, but I cant find a vendor.

Fuzion is a division of Bridgestone and carries much of their more advanced rubber compounds. For the money they are hard to beat.

I had the Toyo's and Khumo's and like my Sumitomo HTRZII's better for a good bit less $$. Actually pretty decent for a summer tire here with all the Florida rain. Haven't tried the Fusion's but know a few folks who love them.

I am running the Toyos on the clubsports on my 86.5. They are ok but I preferred the Bridgestone RE that were on it before. Can't get more specific since it's been a couple of years. I'm satisfied with the Toyos but for $20 more I'd buy Bridgestone if I had it to do over.

I read somewhere that the Fuzions are being discontinued. Get 'em while you can. The Potenzas easily cost twice as much. I guess Bridgestone doesn't want a discount line cutting into their premium sales.

I'd buy a premium tire if I could find a vendor to sell them, or a manufacturer who makes themm in the 245/45 size.

Thanks for the info

We have had no such info given to us by Bridgestone. The Fuzion brand has been a great success, I don't know why they would want to discontinue them.

Just for grins I called the local Firestone/Bridgestone company store for price/avail on the Fuzion's. The guy said they were no longer carrying them, his story was that the factory couldn't keep up so they were pulling them back from the stores. Then-- and this is really odd-- instead of trying to sell me something else he said I should call Tire Rack. (Clearly he flunked his tire-store training class).

I am not buying his story about the factory but clearly the stores will make more money by selling Bridgestones than Fuzions. Yet the whole reason for Bridgestone to do the Fuzion line is to get some business away from the Khumo's etc., and to do that they have to sell them. So the right strategy is to go where the technically-savvy but price-conscious car nuts shop.

Stuff like this must drive the accountants crazy!!

Grip with Fuzions is good and price is right.
My only complaint is tire noise at low speeds but above 100 mph who cares?

anyone who is searching for tires, the local Firestone is having some "friends and family" sale this sunday. I am getting the RE960 tires for 302.98 a pair (just doing rears) that includes mounting, lifetime balance, road hazard, etc

the only problem is that they only have them in 245/50r16 instead of 45, but I really want this particular tire, and the price is right..

fuzions on tire rack are 99 bucks each, PLUS shipping, installation, tire valve ect, so I think this is the deal.

I dont know if this sale is national, but it can't hurt to call and say " I heard you have the friends and family sale today" on sunday

I've been running Toyo Proxes 4 on my Audi- not thrilled with them. Sidewall is a bit soft and they make a little noise. Hunting for the next treads now, leaning toward Yokoham W4S.

I was looking for the Fuzions also but on Tirerack it says the 16" fronts are backordered and the the rears will be in stock on 11/24. They've been out of stock for a while now. It would be exactly what I'm looking for until I can upgrade to larger rims in hopefully the next year.

Default Fuzions

I have been running the Fuzions in my 89 S4 Auto w/ factory wheels for over two yrs now and am very pleased with them in normal street driving. Grip is better than my previous Dunlops.
