So it's uncommon, but not completely uncommon. The Gulf cars look pretty good.

Wasn't the 928S4 setup for drifting Martini colors?

I love the Gulf colors on the 917, but will leave my 928 black/black.

If any of You guys want to take it a bit further, here's a supplier.

It is mainly decals for the 924/944/968 range, but with a little persuation, I guess that the decals can be adapted for the 928.

The Martini seems more 928 related to me because it was Porsche racing main sponsor when the car was released. Just have a look to the factory 935/936s of 1977.

Gulf is too old in my mind for a 928, and related also to the Ford GT40 for example.

I prefer the Rothmans colour but have not seen any 928 like this yet.
Look at this 911 SC/RS, isn't it gorgeous?

Simon Watson in the UK - the previous owner of the GTS, which featured in the J Clarkson video - has Derek Bell's old car, a white '83S 5spd, with Rothmans stripes. It looks great...

Is it possible to have a picture of this car?

I have a picture of Stefan Bellof near his own white 928 S with Rothmans stripes also.
But it wasn't the full Rothmans livery, with the lower part of the car in dark blue, the upper beeing white.

Simon's car is all in white - it is the same as Bellof's car. No 928 ever came out of the factory with the lower part of the car in dark blue. I have the brochure somewhere at home, thus will scan and post when I have the time.

I think for SITM '09 we all run some NASCAR type vinyl numbers (non-stick) on our 928s on the doors. That would be a hoot.
I like the martini/ gulf tie in as well.

+1 I love that coca cola 928!! but not for a street car...

last thing anyone sane would want is a big flag saying - "race car" on the street, imho

it's bad enough w/my white F150 w/the blue roushe stripes... never passed a cop yet that wasn't eyeballing me in that silly thing.

and there's nothing like a sleeper that can shred the unsuspecting "race car" driver...

Thanks 928SS!

Didn't know this thread was only for street cars. Yes, you wouldn't want anymore LOUD graphics on the 928 attracting anymore attention, especially at speed!

Cheers,
Constantine
