85 & 86 TPS Short Harness for Sale
Most of you that own 85 & 86 US cars know that the short harness that connects the TPS (throttle position sensor) to the engine harness is NLA (no longer available).
In most cases the connectors are literally toast and it is a PITA to replace the end connectors on an already deteriorated cable.
928sRus with the help of John Speake has a complete replacement short harness for $59.95 plus shipping.

Roger,
I forgot to tell you, the one you sent me worked perfectly. I had previously made my own using the existing wire and new plugs, but the hardened plastic insulation was so brittle that I could barely bend it and I'm sure the wire was breaking inside it.
I highly recommend this for anyone doing the top end refresh. Thanks Roger!

This wire carries the signal from the throttle position switch, access to which is pretty well buried by the intake pipes.
According to the 85 service publication, it has a plug end mounted near the front of the engine so that it can be unplugged to check the function of the sensor. (Otherwise, it could have been incorporated directly into the harness).
They fail when the end crumbles. Had to tape-up mine.
I made one for the 86, using Bosch ends and boots supplied by Roger. A piece of rubber vac hose carried the three wires. Worked well, but it took time to solder the connections and measure the wires and the insulation at just the right offsets. Plus, the cost added-up to nearly $40 for the pieces.
Roger just sent me one of the new cables. It will be used on the platinum 85. Thanks for reproducing this discontinued part.

I am very glad that John and Roger took the time to get these to market.

Great job Roger/John this is a much needed (NLA) part that keeps restoring the 928 strong!! This also takes the guess work out of getting the wires in the wrong position when replacing the plug. That alone is worth the price which is VERY reasonable.

Calling up this thread in urgent need of advice. And yes, if they are still available I'll be needing one of these.
Does anyone know the orientation of the wire colors so I can limp home?
