Dunno on the Chevy 630 hp, but I looked down into Mark Anderson's recent tranny, and it didn't hold up too well with his Porsche motor. Only time on a track will really tell the tale.

We're just waiting to see what will break first; TT/drive shaft, transaxle or ??? Speaking of first, we only use it to load on the trailer. On the track it's a 4 speed where first and reverse will be locked out. There is also the strong possibility of changing the final to something shorter that will still give us 180 or so top end.

This car was originally conceived of as an ORR, where a 220 final would have been used and weight wasn't really the issue. Following Tim Dey's lead, we left much of the interior and A/C, and weren't planning on huge rubber. Having learned more about the ORR circuit, I decided that I would rather take it to the track and have some fun running NASA ST1 (where I can use even more weight). Not everyone's cup of tea, but it suits me.

Did you replace the clear side lights with the stock amber ones?

Haven't done anything with the lights as the new fender shapes will create issues with the side lights. In order to keep the car less illegal than it already is, we will be trying to install some sort of lights on the sides, front and rear. As you can see, the headlights have been removed and the area will be louvered over. We are using the lower headlights for street legal conformance, but will probably replace the lower units with naca ducts and a pair of rectangular headlight units.
