Default New to the 928 World

Greetings Rennlist,

Please allow myself to introduce... myself. My name's Evan, I work with Mason at 928WW. I have met a few of you that have visited, and spoken with some over the phone or via e-mail.
I have spent countless hours dismantling, researching, and doing inventory on the 928. I decided to join Rennlist for two reasons.... to learn, and help with anything I can. I chose the name "The Sharkologist" because it seems as of late, my life is dedicated to study of the 928. I will be starting "How to" or "Sharkology" Threads with information, and photos on anything I think may be usefull to all the shark owners out there.

Thanks,
-Evan

Welcome aboard - suggestion - become a member (expense it back to Mason) so you can post pictures - the best forum tutorials always have pics

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I look forward to sharing, and learning from the vast amount of knowledge available here.
Ed, I do plan on becoming a member ( I knew this would come up ). We need to check if Mason's sponsorship would cover me also... If it doesn't, I have no problem dishing out the $18 (myself) to support the list. Especially if I can not post photo's otherwise ( I didn't realize that at first ). You're right, the best tutorials always have pictures, and my plan is to include them in everything that I can.

....Unfortunately, No. Although, may be close on one right now. Believe me, I dream about ripping around town in my own every night. For the time being, it's the 01' VW Jetta 1.8T Wolfsburg... at least it's german, right?
I have driven a few, but not enough to truely appreciate it (especially when it's someone else's and all I can think about is not destroying theirs!)

Welcome to the forum, quite a few of us are amateur disassemblers.

It takes me about two years to part out a 928, any tips?

BTW I think as a user you can link to images hosted on other sites, and many other sites offer free hosting.

You know...it's funny....but I could swear.....isn't there a way for users to post photos? Can't users "attach" photos to their posts? I didn't think you needed to be a member to do that. Maybe I am misremembering. But there's a feature that is not the same as using the upload feature at the top right, nor the same as creating a photo album. Should be a button at the bottom of an "Advanced Edit" screen for attaching photos directly to the post. You're allowed a maximum of 20 or 30 pics stored that way, I think.

Welcome to the forum, Evan!

LOL, Thanks. I'm actually itching to build my own from the ground up... I know, I know, It's insane and over my head... but a guy can dream can't he? How much harder can it be to put back together than it is to take apart?? ( ...don't answer that) In reality, I hope to have mine by the end of the summer, and go from there.

And thanks, Leslie... I'll figure the picture thing out when it's time, appreciate the help.
