Default MY FIRST SHARK!! 79 Euro 5spd

Just picked up a 5 speed 79 Euro to call my own
This one's staying on the road, and believe me when I say, WILL be driven the way it was meant to be (I-95, Autobahn... same thing, right? )
Red, Sunroof delete, 16" phone dials, no rub rails, and did I mention 5 speed!!??
Owner couldn't get it to run, but was able to start it yesterday. Problem is unkown at the moment... it's on a trailer behind me enroute to it's new home Body needs a little care, as well as the interior. But, WHO CARES!?

Hope to have it on the road, ripping around town soon... sorry Jetta, you're sitting for a while (until the Euro is dead and/or gone).

Here's a link to some photos

Stay tuned... (for my first major speeding ticket )

Congrats!! Not as familiar with OB's but fuel lines certainly should be looked at.

NICE! No sunroof to mess around with, no rubstrips. Very nice.

Good luck to you, keep us posted.

The early cars especialy in Europe the sunroof was an option it was later that PCNA loaded up the USA spec cars and made the sunroof standard and thus very rare to find a deleted sunroof later car. I helped 6ft 6 in Dewayne locate the only S-4 I knew about had it been a 5 spd I would have bought it That car should be fun my wife had a 79 5 speed for several years ....

Congratulations! Very nice. We will be restoring ours at the same time. I just bought a 1980 Euro 5 speed, my first 928. Michael

Nice find! Before you drive it AT ALL, you should make sure it has been retrofitted with steel lower ball joint carriers. If it has not, I suggest you drive it as if the lower ball joints are going to come apart any second -- e.g. NOT at autobahn speeds.

Cool. It's nice to see you guys save one.

Now you just have to talk Mason into trading you those black sport seats.

Congtrats! Now instead of getting paid to work on/for a 928 you can do it for free. Don't be like many plumbers who have leaky faucets at home. Dedicate the time and make it/you proud.

Don't call them tickets, those are official certificates of performance.

Is anybody sure a 79 will break the speed limit? Who has the best certificate from a 79?

I have a dyno ticket that says 158 mph for my '79 I'm not telling how fast I have actually driven mine but it was close and still had lots of pedal left. I have a bunch of the early cars here if you have any questions feel free.

Yep, sell the Jetta for parts and/or to pay off tickets.
