Mongo:
I too had similar issues. Fuel relay, but replaced fuel pump too, then it ran fine. If some of the guys here have the parts and are willing to help you out, accept the offers. There are some great 928'r's around......

I'll accept any offer I can take right now. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Wait till mine. It's more fun when the groom does it.

Hey Mike, the car is an auto. 155,000 wonderful miles. I would say 155,535 miles, but the the 535 have been nothing but an effing nightmare since this all started.

I believe Mike is asking to know if the thrust bearing has been checked and released.

Every 9 months I do it now and it's always the same 2-4mm movement.

What is the crank endplay then?

Consider getting and installing porken's additional clamp

Already have. I haven't taken a dial indicator to it yet to know for sure what the end play is.

I'm leaving work right now. Pray that "TED KENNEDY" doesn't strand me on the way back to San Rafael.

Andy,
I will send you an LH. Just can't send it for a couple of weeks.
Borrow the one from Jgorg short term.
Pay me back one day!
Roger

You are a saint Roger. Thank you so much! Thank you all for your help with my car. It has been quite a rollercoaster with it. Now I feel like marriage will be easier!

I put a new JDS Porsche LH cpu in my '87 S4 and it ran so much better. Faster starts, smoother idle, and better all around performance. When they get old they just have problems.
